—————————
It was Halloween and everyone in school is hyped. I never really got the experience and the joy of Halloween during my early childhood, but now I can, and for my first ever costume that I want to be something scary. As both Jess and Rachel came into the room. They both sat down at their respective seats. I noticed that Jess brought out some comics, and I began to pick up the one that my eyes laid upon, Wonder Woman.
"Vunder Voman...who iz she?"
"Oh! Her? Oh she's the best. The best superheroine ever." Rachel exclaimed.
"She's a superhero who is an amazon. Her real name is Diana and she lives in Themascara where all women live together without the presence of man." Jess explains to me.
"Vow." I murmured in awe.
Jess hands me the comic, "Here. You can borrow it. Just bring it back when you're done."
"Okay. Thanks." I replied and I scanned the pages and pictures. Class then starts and I stuffed the comic into my bag pack as the teacher hands out a sheet of paper, and starting our work. 15 minutes passed and we began reading the book, halfway into the story and it was getting interesting. For me anyway. Time passes and I was one of the few people to finish the chapter of the day. I then began looking down at the hard wooden desk, as I started back at me. My eyes felt heavy, as I was beginning to shut my eyes, I felt immense peace as I clouded my mind, and that the class was silent to. I felt tired and started to close my eyes. As I did so, I then felt a strange tingle located on my head, but it felt good in someway.
"What is this? What's happening?" I asked myself. I didn't fear it though, as there was nothing to fear this feeling. It felt nice and made me relaxed, so I let the feeling take over. The more I became focused with this immense and powerful feeling, the more stronger and intense it became. I can sense that it was almost time to go. So I flashed my eyes open to reveal the time, it said 8:58, and we leave at 9. I began to question in my head.
"What was that? How did I...?" I wasn't sure if I was still dreaming or that I was going crazy. I was like I had the sixth sense. Anyway, the teacher, Mr. Atkinson handed out graded work and homework. I have an overall A+ that was written above in red. I knew that I was going to pass. Then the bell rung and we all scrabbled trying to get to our next class. Science was in short, boring. P.E. however was intense and exciting. First off, Mr. Ford told us that we were having a dodge fight and were spit into two teams, team A and team B. I went with team A, There would be Wilbert, Corey and Steve, and just like that, after when we were in our places, the game began. Wilbert's other friend that Wilbert himself introduced to me, Justin Addams. He didn't like being in the games especially with dodge ball. Justin told me that he hated rough games and would rather read a book or write poetry than having to take P.E. or participate in any games. Guess you can say he was a softy. As the game started all the kids screamed and yelled, in fury trying to catch or throw a ball at the opponent. Everyone was at each other's necks, just for one of them to get an opponent out. Justin, obviously his dislike to rough house and was a scaredy cat, runs frantically from the balls that were thrown.
"Calm down, Jushtin," I exclaimed, "just do vhat Vilbert iz doing." As I looked at Wilbert, he was ducking below. He rose up, throwing a ball with ferocious force in which the ball flew to one boy and knocked his face off and was immediately out of the game.
"Nicsh job, Vilbert!" I shouted. Wilbert in turn, smiled and nodded. I then noticed a kid with black hair, looking at Justin, and at the last second, I ran as fast as I could to protect him. I flew over to Justin, knocking him into the floor, the ball missed the target. Almost an hour later, Half of each of the teams on different sides were out. Corey, Steve and Wilbert were still in the game, especially me and Justin. I began to feel tired and sweaty, kneeling down in the back, breathing heavily, but I knew I had to keep moving. Justin was behind me like a child, but looking back at him, he looked even braver than before. I guess after I saved him he thanked me and promised me that he'll be better. Suddenly, a ball came straight towards me, but I quickly and swiftly managed to dodge it before it hit me in the face. Wilbert grabbed the ball and threw it viciously at the opponent. Justin taps me on the shoulder.
"I have an idea. Watch out for me." He whispers. I nodded and questioned myself what he was going to do. He grabbed one ball that was near him and threw it way over the kid, however, when the ball shot, it hit the wall and surprisingly hitting the back of the kids head, automatically he was out. I was taken aback. I ran up to him and gave him a high five.
"Aweshome!"
"Nice shot Justin."
"Finally you're doing something for the team." Corey spoke, not too harsh.
"He's just kidding. Think nothing of it." Steve spoke out. We both shrugged and kept on playing. There were now a total of 3 people on the other team, and those three were the fastest, strongest, and the quickest ever and I didn't think we could take them on. God saved us from the 3 when the bell ring and we had to leave, this making us, and my team the winners. Time skip to after school, and me and Wilbert were getting our costumes on, getting ready to trick o' treat. Wibert was going to be a character from Ghostbusters, as for myself, I was going to be an angel. Me and Wilbert both agreed that we should get ready to change over and that the fact that we're were secretly going to Corey's house for a Halloween party. Also Corey's brother invited us to go to his friends party before their high school was over and then going off to college. Corey's brother's name is Brandon and his friend is Andrew Perry, my history teacher's son. Anyways, Corey said that Andrew's parents would be out of town and he would have the whole house to himself. So, Wilbert planned that instead of staying in Corey's house, we would secretly go in Andrew's house and have fun there. Jess told me that this was going to be my first 'real' party, and it will be the best party that I will ever experience. I didn't know what to expect, but I didn't care nevertheless. It obviously wasn't going to be any party I ever witnessed, since I mainly go to banquets every 2 months, and obviously, I wasn't a fan of that 'party,' but I expected that this was going to be much different than the party I use to know. Besides, not only I had two friends, which that much was boring, but the sight of my uncle being there would be nauseating for me, and seeing him at the banquet made me wanna leave. Both Rachel and Jess insisted that this kind of party would have loud music, everyone would go crazy and dance for the fun. Suddenly the doorbell rang, me and Wilbert bolted downstairs to answer it and saw Rachel standing in the doorway, dressed up as a white rabbit.
"Vachel." I beamed excitedly.
"Again?" Wilbert looked at Rachel's costume.
"What? I like being the bunny."
"Weren't you a rabbit in 5th and 4th grade?"
"Yeah, but I still like it. Anyways, I'm ready when you guys are."
"Vere veady." I spoke, stepping out of the house.
"Mom! We're leaving." Wilbert shouts, as Wilbert's mother walks over after finishing her croquet.
"You two be safe now." She beckons us.
"Okay." We both replied and we left the house with our pillow cases gripping in our hands as we walked towards each house to get candy and to the next. Three hours later, we stopped by a few houses before, we came to the assumption that we ran in by a total of 65 houses, and by then the sun was already down, however, light was still emanating in the sky. We soon realized that we had to get to Corey house before the party.
"Where's Corey? Doesn't he usually wait at the park." Rachel turns around and responds,
"I would hope so-" suddenly, two figures jump out of the bushes and grabbed Rachel's shoulders as she screamed. Both Wilbert and I jumped and I sensed that the two figures were Jess and Corey and I didn't throw hands at the two. The figures then took their Wolf masks off and cracked up, revealing Corey and Jess as I predicted.
"That. Was. Good." Jess laughed, trying to catch her breath.
"Holy shit. Rach you good?" Corey ask while he smiled and laughed. I turned to see Rachel as her face morphed into fear and surprise to fury. Her face flushed pink and then changed, looking red and was now fuming with anger.
"It's not funny! What the hell is wrong with you guys?!" Rachel burst into a fit.
"Woah, Calm down Rach it's just a prank!" Jess raised her hands defensively.
"Honestly, I thought you'd guys find us in the bushes." Corey breathed.
"I'd thought you'd be at jour housh." I replied, still a bit puzzled.
"We wanted to scare people." Corey responded.
"Well you did a good job." Rachel muttered bitterly, as they chuckled.
"Alright, alright. Let's go." Rachel grabs my hand.
"Is your brother set with us going to the party?" Wilbert asked Corey.
"Yeah. I asked and he asked his friend. Come on." Corey walks off and we follow.
"Right, come on. Samantha here needs to see what a real party looks like." Jess spoke, grabbing my other hand and we all walked off. As we made it to Andrew's house, there were people outside, drinking and laughing, music can be heard a mile away and the whole house looked trashed, and as we made our way inside, my eyes shot up at the mass of crowds of people dancing and talking. The whole house was covered in cobwebs with fake spiders, the floor was covered with confetti and balloons hanged from the sides. I quickly came to the realization that this could be good.
"I'm hungry. Imma get some food." Corey shouted and walked off. I looked around, and the people, looking as if they're having the best time of their lives. This really was a different kind of party that I used to know. At this point I was hungry and I made my way towards the kitchen and grabbed myself a handful of batches cookies, and walked my way towards Rachel.
"Vhere's Vilbert?!" I shouted, as the sound of the house was getting so loud.
"I think he went to the restroom!" Rachel responds. Minutes later, after Wilbert came back and the music suddenly changes, Rachel grabs ahold of my hand.
"Vha-Vachel! Vhat are jou doing?!"
"Come on! You need to party!"
"But-but I don't know how to dansh!"
"Don't worry about that! Just go with the flow!" She shouts. The music pumped up and I started to get really into it. We started of just holding our hands as we were dancing back and fourth. Forwards and backwards. Repeating the steps, and then I suddenly got the hang of it, together we separated but danced our own accord. I then swayed my hips and move my arms around at a certain way, hearing each beat and moving my own body to the beat.
"See! There you go! You got it!" I heard Rachel cheering for me as I danced. Now I was swaying my arms, bobbing my head and moving them around as my hair swung around. I moved my arms across my body, all of the whole my body correspond to the rhythm of the music. This truly was amazing. I honestly didn't think that this is what it would be like not only dancing at a interesting pace but just going crazy in a positive and fun way. My father would always tell me that it was inappropriate and improper for a girl such as myself to dance in a crazy manner, I would know, but right now, I didn't give a shit anymore. He isn't here and I'm somewhere different, and obviously I can't change that anymore. Now that I don't have the Aether  powers. I let all of the tension and the negative thoughts go and started rocking myself out, all while laughing out of happiness.
Minutes passed on as the sky was black as ever and the cool breeze brushed my face, swaying my hair and cooling me off after the intense partying inside. I was clearly enjoying the moment, now that I have my friends; both Wilbert, Rachel, Jess, Corey, and I relaxed outside. Upcoming ahead was Fiona, Simon, Steve, and Jackson and sat down next to us.
"So, Sammy poo, what do you think of the party so far?" Fiona asked with a criminal smirk. I heard a snort and chuckles from a few. I rolled my eyes while smirking and replied,
"It was fun honeshly. Sho much better zhan zhe kind of party that I'm ush too."
"So Sam, what's this "party" like to you when going there?"
"Honeshly, itsh boring. Shpecifically, itsh mainly about mein father's vork, chelebrating on how hard he's vorked. Mainly, ash for me, I have to be at mein father's shide zhe whole time, and I can't veally go anyvhere. Itsh annoying and a total bore."
"Damn. I imagine."
"That's honestly so stupid. I would ditch the party and just go outside."
"Ja. I vould too, but I veally can't."
"Speaking of, if you knew that your uncle was bad enough that he'd test you without your father knowing, why the hell stay around there? Like, run away from home and live out somewhere where you uncle can't find you. Your dad failed you at keeping an eye out and you uncle is a piece of shit. So why stick around when you know your uncle is evil and all?" Jackson explained. I sighed, moving my hair back with my hand.
"Ash much ash I vanted to leave, I couldn't. I don't have very much friendsh to help me and even if I did we get caught and either they'll separate us or vorsh, my vroom vould be on total lockdown and I veally have nowvhere to vun."
"Well, why not tell your dad?" Fiona asked.
"I did. Countlessh of time, but either he doesn't believe or he'sh never home."
"Shit. I'm sorry. God if I was there, I'd break you out in no time." Jess spoke, punching her hands together. I chuckled.
"Zhat would be nicsh, but zhe guards patrol around and if zhey shee jou, zhen zhey vould arrsht jou."
"Whatever, I'd still help you out even if it gets me in trouble." Jess replies.
"I'm so sorry, Sam." Rachel responds, sympathetically. Jess then adds,
"Ooh if I was there-" suddenly, I heard screaming coming from inside the house.
"Woah, What the hell is going on?" Corey spoke.
"A fight breaking out." Rachel asked.
"Is someone getting their ass handed to them?" Jackson added. Then, Corey's brother, Brandon comes out, running towards us.
"Brandon, what's happening?" Corey asks.
"You guys need leave. Now." He demanded.
"Is there a fight?" Simon asked.
"No. Andrew's parent are here and they're pissed. Go! Now!" Brandon barked.
"Alright." Corey raised his voice, throwing his hands up, rolling his eyes.
"Come on, Sam." Wilbert grabs a hold of my wrist and we booked it. Going through the forest and into the neighborhood. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and others catching their breath.
"I think we're safe." Jackson spoke, breathing a sigh of relief.
"Yeah. Guess the teacher returned earlier than I thought." Corey said.
"Well, I gotta get some rest. Come on." Fiona motioned Simon to follow.
"G'night guys." Simon waved while walking away.
"I'd better get home. See y'all tomorrow." Jackson said and ran off the other direction.
"I'm heading back. Hope Brandon doesn't get in trouble. See you guys." Corey followed suit.
"Welp. Looks like I'm gonna stay up. How bout you guys?" Jess asked.
"I'm exaushted." I rubbed my arm.
"I bet." Rachel lightly replied, I already knew what she was talking about.
"I'm kinda getting pooped too. Come on, Sam. We'd better get home. It's already 11." Wilbert explained.
"Mein gott. Alvight, vell, ve better get going."
"Good night you two." Rachel waved.
"Good night, Vachel. Night, Jess." I replied, as me and Wilbert walked away into the cool night.
"Vell zhat vas fun." I spoke, while yawning.
"How are you doing?" Wilbert asked.
"Fantashtic." I replied gleefully.
"Good." Wilbert spoke soothingly.
