Chapter 31

"I have to get her!" Shai said and ran away
"W-wait!" Himeko said
"What is going on?" The girl asked
"I have no idea" Matsuri said
"Who was that guy you mentioned?" Himeko asked
"Ortho. Yuzu's and Shai's other cousin. I was with Yuzu until we bumped into him. Yuzu said to go ahead and look for you guys" Matsuri said
"Come on. We should get going then" Himeko said. Meanwhile Shai found everyone start to run away from the big flames. Shai's eyes widen and trembled
Wh-what the hell happened? Shit...it seems Yuzu isn't in control anymore!
Shai noticed the flames getting closer to the buildings and punched the ground hard creating ice trying to surround Yuzu, Ortho and herself. Yuzu's eyes widen and looked around seeing only ice
What the hell? Ice...wait a minute...Shai?
"Sh-shai?" Yuzu asked and turned around seeing Shai
"Y-yuzu?" Shai asked. Yuzu's flames slowly cooled down as she started calming herself down
"Wh-what's going on?" Shai asked as she walked up to her
"Jeez did you really have to fucking freeze us?" Ortho asked as he shivered
"What happened?" Shai asked. Yuzu and Ortho only glared at each other gritting their teeth
"Hehe...guess Shai doesn't know right?" Ortho said. Yuzu only stayed silent as she looked down. Shai looked over at Yuzu noticing her expression
What's going on? I've never seen that expression before...
"Y-yuzu? Are you okay?" Shai asked. Yuzu only stayed quiet and clenched her fists tightly
"What did you do?" Shai asked as she glared at Ortho
"I didn't do anything alright. That's her problem" Ortho said
"You obviously did something!" Shai said and walked up to him
"Hey calm down!" Ortho said. Shai only glared at him as she released her cold aura
"Then explain what the hell happened?" Shai asked
"We only talked..." Ortho said
"About what?" Shai asked
"...about her father what else" Ortho said. Shai's eyes widen and grabbed Ortho
"Why the hell would you being that up!?" Shai exclaimed as ice started coming out from her palm
"We killed our father..." Ortho said
"Wh-what?" Shai asked
"You ended up killing your father as well right?" Ortho asked. Shai's eyes widen and gritted her teeth
"No I didn't!" Shai shouted
"But your father was murdered and what did you do? You just let him get killed" Ortho said. Shai gripped his shirt tightly and trembled
"You piece of shit..." Shai said
"What? Am I wrong?" Ortho asked
"Y-you..." Shai growled
"It was your fault right? You weren't strong enough to save him..." Ortho said. Shai raised her fist and punched him hard
"Shut up! You don't fucking understand what we've been through!" Shai said
"Heh...so? You two were born with powers" Ortho said
"And? You're jealous just because we were born with powers?" Shai asked
"Of course I am! It was suppose to be me who should've been born with that power! Being powerless and having no power sucks like hell! Especially since you're the only one in the family with no power!" Ortho said
"And you think having a power is awesome?!" Shai exclaimed
"Yes! I'm the only one with no power and I was never successful! It's all because of my god damn father! It's his fault I wasn't born with a power! My stupid mother as well! She had a power but it didn't transfer to me!" Ortho shouted and clenched his fists tightly
"Do you really think you could just transfer powers like that? You idiot! You're suppose to have a good heart and use your power only for good!" Yuzu shouted. Ortho looked at Yuzu and chuckled softly
"Good heart? Use your power for good? Ha! What about you Yuzuko? Do you have a good heart? Have you been using your power for good?" Ortho asked. Yuzu's eyes widen and trembled as she looked down
"Yuzu has a good heart! She's the brightest, the most caring, and amazing person I know! She always spread happiness to other people and always smiles! She protects her family!" Shai said
"Protects her family? Hahaha...so you don't know her secret?" Ortho asked. Shai's eyes widen and turned to look at Yuzu who still kept her head down
S-secret!? What secret!?
"Y-yuzu? What is he talking about? What secret?" Shai asked. Yuzu only kept looking down not wanting to look at her
Shit...I knew my secret wasn't going to be kept forever...one day...that secret would be out
"Y-yuzu? Answer me! What secret?!" Shai exclaimed
"Hehehe...want me to tell her?" Ortho asked. Yuzu only looked down and sighed deeply. She lifted her head up and had a serious expression
"I killed...my grandmother" Yuzu said. Shai's eyes widen and trembled
Wait! What?! She did what?!
"Wh-what? You k-killed...h-her?" Shai asked
"Yes...I did" Yuzu said
Flashback
Yuzu was sitting in front of her father's grave with tears rolling down her cheeks. The 12 year old blonde girl was depressed and upset about her father's death and still kept blaming herself for his death. She trembled as she stood up
"P-papa...I can't do this anymore...I hate everything. I'm not happy at all..." Yuzu said and cried loudly. She clenched her fists tightly and growled furiously
"I-I really don't want to do this but...I...I want to fucking kill them. They were the reason..." Yuzu mumbled as her eyes glowed. She looked at her father's tombstone and clenched her fists tightly as her flames grew from her hands. She looked at her hands seeing the flames. She watched them grew bigger as her anger started building up
"Forgive me papa...I broke my promise..." Yuzu said and clenched her fists tightly. She turned around and started walking away where her mother was waiting for her. Her mother opened her arms out to hug her but Yuzu only walked by
"Sorry mother...I just...want to go hope now..." Yuzu said. Ume looked at her and nodded. They got inside the car and Ume drove away heading back home. Yuzu only looked out the car window and growled lowly
'I'm going to kill them...'
Yuzu headed back home and stayed in her room. She curled herself up into a ball and looked out the window. Ume was worried about her but decided to leave her alone. After a few hours, everyone was asleep. Yuzu walked up to the window and opened it. She wore a jacket and jumped out of the window. She landed safely on the ground since she was a superhuman. She stood up and started walking away heading to her grandparent's place. She looked around seeing other people. She kept her head down only heading to her grandparent's place
"Hey! What are you doing?" A hooded guy asked as he grabbed her arm. Yuzu got out of his grip and walked away
"Hey! I'm talking to you!" The hooded guy said grabbing her. Yuzu's eyes glowed and glared at the man as she activated her flames burning his hand
"Ugh! Wh-what the hell?" The guy asked. Yuzu walked away leaving him alone. She kept walking until she finally arrived at the place. She looked up at the house and looked at her hand. She placed her hand against the house as her eyes glowed then activated her flames. Her small flames started to slowly grow as she walked away with her hands inside her pockets then smirked
"Done..." Yuzu said
End Of Flashback
Shai's eyes widen and couldn't believe what she was hearing from her
"Y-yuzu...you...k-killed her" Shai mumbled
"Yes. I killed her" Yuzu said
"Wh-why?" Shai asked
"Because...it's her and grandpa's fault...for my father's death" Yuzu said in a serious tone
"Wh-what?" Shai asked
"Haha...do you still believe that she has a good heart? This bitch literally killed that old hag and tried to kill grandpa but he was able to escape" Ortho said
"And why are you so happy about it?" Shai asked
"Because it's hilarious to see your reaction. You seriously think that Yuzu was always a sweet and kind person. You're dead wrong...Yuzu only pretended to act all sweet. In the inside...she's a monster" Ortho said. Yuzu clenched her fists tightly and ran up to him punching him hard. She grabbed his face lifting his body up then slammed it on the cold hard ground. Shai only stood there and trembled
"Y-yuzu...?" Shai asked. Yuzu only looked at Shai and sighed
"I'm sorry Shai...I should've told you sooner..." Yuzu said as she looked down. Suddenly the ice started falling as someone came in punching it hard. Yuzu and Shai started dodging the ice that was falling towards them. Yuzu's eyes widen as she saw a huge ice falling towards Ortho. Ortho groaned trying to move but couldn't. Yuzu ran up to him grabbing him then raised her fist punching the ice hard bursting her flames. She destroyed the ice into pieces and ran out of the ice and so did Shai escaping the ice. They got to safety and Yuzu dropped Ortho. Ortho looked up at Yuzu and stood up holding his side
"Wh-what the hell? Wh-why did...you safe me? Couldn't you just let me die?" Ortho asked
"I may be a monster...and a killer...but...I still have a place for my family inside my heart" Yuzu said as she looked away. Shai only stood there and turned around
"Shai!" Himeko said
"H-himeko?" Shai asked. Himeko jumped towards her and hugged her tightly
"I was so worried!" Himeko cried
"H-himeko calm down. I-it's okay. See? I'm okay" Shai said as she smiled brightly. Yuzu looked at them and jumped
"Yuzu!" Mei said. Yuzu turned around and looked at Mei
M-mei?
Mei ran up to her and hugged her
"Are you okay? What happened?" Mei asked
"H-how did you know?" Yuzu asked
"I saw everything on TV. I left Mokuro with the other girls and left running here" Mei said
"M-mei..." Yuzu said and teared up. Mei wrapped her arms around her neck kissing her softly. Yuzu blushed deeply and kissed her back
I love Mei so much. She makes me happy...
"I'm so glad you're okay!" Mei said breaking the kiss and held Yuzu tightly. Yuzu blushed deeply and smiled softly
"I'm here....don't worry" Yuzu whispered. Mei looked at the man and glared at him
"Who the hell is this bastard?" Mei asked coldly
"My cousin Ortho..." Yuzu said
"Oh...your other cousin" Mei said
"Hehe y-yeah" Yuzu said as she smiled
"N-nice to meet you" Ortho said as he bowed down
"Mei Aihara. Nice to meet you too" Mei said still coldly which scared Ortho
How the fuck was she able to get with someone so hot?
The people in the town walked back to them and started whispering a few things
"Okay. What the hell happened here?" The Chief asked as he walked up to them
"Sir...forgive me. I started all this. I provoked them and Shai was only using her ice powers to try and keep Yuzuko's flames down" Ortho said as he bowed down
"So...you caused all this destruction?" The Chief asked
"Yes sir. I caused it because I provoked them..." Ortho said
"Very well but there is still something I must know about..." The Chief said
"Hm? Excuse me?" Ortho asked. The Chief turned around and looked at Shai
"Shai Okogi...what happened with the detective?" The Chief asked
"Wh-what?" Shai asked
Oh fuck! This bastard is onto me! Shit!
Shai shivered feeling the shadow behind her and leaned towards her ear
"Let me take control and I will help you" She whispered. Shai gulped and felt Himeko holding her tightly
"W-well...I'm not sure what happened. It must've been the other victim who crashed into him" Shai said
"Why didn't you save him?" The Chief asked
"I-I couldn't save him" Shai said
"You couldn't or you didn't want to...?" The Chief asked
"I couldn't alright? It was the other person's fault" Shai said
"That crash caused a massive explosion. How come you're not injured?" The Chief asked
"Because I flew out of the car and covered myself in my ice powers which protected my body..." Shai said
Hmm? It seems I can't do anything but...she must've done something to cause the accident
"You didn't cause the accident right?" The Chief asked
"Of course I didn't. I already told you it was the other victim who caused it" Shai said
"Just leave her alone..." An old man spoke as he walked in. Yuzu's eyes widen and trembled holding onto Mei tightly. Mei looked at her seeing her expression
Y-yuzu?
"Gr-grandpa? What are you doing here? I-I thought you were at home..." Ortho said
"I saw the news about an incident...hehe...and I see that you've found your two other cousins" The old man said
"What the hell do you want?" Yuzu hissed
"Just wanted to come by and meet my two wonderful granddaughters" The old man said
