The message said, "Meet me at the beach tomorrow?"
I declined his request to message me.

He texted again, but this time he sent it through normal messaging.

"Come on, please?"

"How do you have my number?" I sent back.

"You never changed it." He replied.

"That's creepy of you."

"Lol I know. But anyways, please meet me at the beach tomorrow?"

"Is this a dare?"

"Why would it be a dare?"

"I don't know, and I don't know about tomorrow."

"Why not?"

"Because I stopped trusting you."

"Ouch that hurt."

"Doubt it hurt as much as you hurt me." And with that, I ended the conversation.

I was telling Melissa about the messages, and she looked at me confused.

"Maddie, I know he hurt you, but why don't you give it a shot?" She asks.

"He might hurt me again." I whisper.

"I'll come with you. I'll be in the car, so you can run to me."

"Fine."

I pull out my phone to text Daniel.

"So what time do you want me at the beach?" I sent.

"Noon?" He sent back.

"Sounds good."

"Can't wait to see you! :)"

Read at 10:23pm.

"He's definitely trying to flirt with you." Melissa giggled.

"Well it's not working." I said getting up.

"I'm going to bed, goodnight." I told her.

"Goodnight, you'll need a lot of rest for your date with Daniel!" She laughed.

I rolled my eyes as I giggled.

I laid down in my bed, and began to think. Is this really a date? No. It's not a date. I'm just going to catch up with Daniel as acquaintances. Not friends. I don't even understand why he wants to see me again. After all, he told me to make no form of contact with him, and now he decides to pop up into my life again.

I closed my eyes, and fell asleep.

I woke up to Melissa hitting me with a pillow.

"Stop!" I groaned.

"It's eleven thirty! You have half an hour to get ready to see Daniel!" She yelled.

"Oh crap!" I yell jumping out of bed.

I put on a pink bikini, with a crop top and shorts on over it. I put my hair in a somewhat messy bun.

I washed my face with cleanser, toner, treatment, and moisturizer. It seems like a lot, I know, but it has helped my face become a lot clearer than it used to be. I checked the time, and it was eleven forty-five.

"Melissa, I'm ready!" I yell.

I hear her running down the stairs. She grabs her sunglasses and I grab mine.

"You're driving!" I say.

"Damnit, Maddie!" She laughs.

I opened the door to see another damn package.

"Who's sending you these packages?" Melissa asks.

"If I knew I'd tell you." I respond.

I opened the box to see the usual rose and note.

"Roses are red

Violets are blue

I love the beach.

Don't you?"

"I think they're from Daniel." I say to Melissa.

I get in the passenger's seat and put on my seatbelt. Melissa put her seatbelt on too and blasted the radio.

When we parked I got out of the car and saw Daniel sitting in his car.

"I see him." I said to Melissa.

"Remember, run to me if he hurts you." She says.

"I will." I said.

I walked to his car.

"How long have you been waiting here?" I ask as I approach him.

"Hey! I just got here." He says hugging me.

I flinched at first, then hugged him back.

"Did you eat breakfast?" He asks.

"No, I woke up at eleven thirty." I said laughing.

"Let's go get breakfast!" He exclaims.

I laughed.

The walk to the diner was silent. But when we got there, we started talking more.

"So what made you move to LA?" I ask.

"I have a lot of friends here. I also wanted to start getting into a singing career, and the record labels are really good in LA." Daniel replied.

"I forgot about you're singing!" I said.

That was partially true. When Daniel broke up with me, I always missed him singing to me when I was stressed. But now I forgot he was a singer.

"That's fair, I mean we haven't seen each other for years. But what have you been up to?" He asks.

"I've continued drawing. I'm in the Talented Art Program for my online school." I explained.

"Of course you are," he laughed. "Your drawings are amazing!" He continued.

"Thank you." I blushed.
