I actually got to sleep in for once, and I woke up feeling a lot better than yesterday. I got up and greeted Melissa while getting cereal.
"We're giving you a makeover today!" She yells.
"Why?" I ask.
"Because you and I are going out for dinner later!"
I sighed. "Fine."
"Get dressed, we're going to buy you a dress for tonight." She says.
I groan and wear an orange off-the-shoulder romper. Then I put my hair in a bun and
grabbed my sunglasses.
"You're driving!" I yell at Melissa.
She rolled her eyes and laughed.
We sat in the car and jammed out to Five Seconds of Summer, Drake, and Shawn Mendes.
When we got to the mall, we walked into a fancy dress store that I didn't get the name of. We were looking through such beautiful dresses when I found the perfect one.
It was as red as a rose, with the top of it being a laced v-neck, and the bottom being short in the front and longer in the back. I tried it on and showed Melissa. When I showed her, her eyes widened.
"It looks perfect on you!" She squeals.
We ended up buying the three hundred fifty dollar dress and bought silver heels to go along
with it. We got pizza at the mall, and looked around at random stores.
"We have to go to Sephora, a makeup artist there is doing your makeup in five minutes!" Melissa said.
We rushed to Sephora and I met a woman named Nicole.
She quickly sat me down in a chair. She started with some primer to minimize my pores.
Then she used green color corrector put it over my pimples and red spots. She put peach concealer under my eyes to cover up my bags from lack of sleep. Then Nicole put foundation, concealer, contour, everything I did with my date with Daniel. For my eyes she did a smokey maroon cut crease. She used a dark red liquid lipstick and set my face in place with setting spray. I absolutely loved the way I looked.
"You look stunning!" Melissa said, taking pictures.
We paid Nicole and rushed home for me to change. When I did, I started straightening my hair. I never felt so confident.
"I'll drive!" Melissa said.
Melissa never offers to drive, so something is up.
"Where are we going?"
"You'll see." She said blindfolding me.
"But I can't see because of the blindfold."
"I didn't ask for the attitude!" She yelled, laughing.
When I got there, Melissa helped me out of the car, and took my off my blindfold.
I saw a red carpet with rose petals on the ground. Ahead of it was the restaurant where Daniel took me for our first date here in LA. Before I could walk one step, three girls walked up to me.
"You're that bitch who hooked up with Daniel!"
"You don't deserve him!"
"You're probably just using him!"
They kept throwing insults at me until they were cut off by a voice.
"Ladies," Daniel said, walking up to me.
"She's mine, and we're together. I ask that you support her, if you're real fans, of course." He says calmly.
The fans scoffed.
"But why her?" One asked.
"You could do so much better, Daniel."
"Seriously, I mean look at her."
"If you support me, you support us.You don't support us, you don't support me."
The fans sighed.
"Okay, we're sorry. Can we get a picture with you both?" They ask.
"Only if you're kind about it." He says sternly.
They take their pictures and leave.
"Daniel, I-" But he shushed me.
We linked arms as he walks me down the carpet. At the end, he turned and faced me.
"Madelaine, I'm so sorry for what I put you through. I wasn't embarrassed of you. I wanted to make this the most special memory you'll ever have of me. But I still see that you get my roses and notes I send you."
"You're the one who sends them?" I ask.
"Melissa helped me out with this." He laughs.
I turned to Melissa and she waved.
"But how come I didn't get one today?" I asked.
"Who said you weren't getting a rose today?" He said, pulling a rose from behind his back.
"Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
I need to know.
Will you let it die or let it grow?"
