Dropping to a slide just as the ground took a real form I ducked the dull ax that would have still hurt. My very own puppet swinging the ax shaped arm at me with a vengeance as I mildly regretted letting them rent out the things.

"Lilith!" How on earth did I already catch up to one of you? Jay was racing away from one of his own, practically balling. "Save me!"

"You-" Growling as his weight slapped into me, his limbs locking around me as I kicked away from not one but two of the blasted things. "Jay! I swear to Fenrir! I can't do anything but run either! They were given their orders! They're not even at full power, just run!" I snapped shoving his face as I continued to jump back, my mobility dropping drastically.

"I tried that!" He cried, his grip hardly loosening.

"Climb a tree then!" I snarled getting him off just in time to dodge the hammer his had. He was scurrying up a tree faster than I thought possible while I was stuck with both puppets. I was going to kill him.

Grinding my teeth I launched forward, grazing the ax I was quick to kick off before slamming my feet into the other, leaping into the nearest tree. Readjusting my grip I pulled myself up, my upper body already screaming from the constant use. "What now?!" Glaring at him as I crouched in my tree I turned my back on him and jumped to the next.

I heard the snap of a tree branch before the crash of his body, a horror filled scream finding my ears as I glanced back, they had cornered him. Good. With a huff, I continued in the trees, many puppets lingering on the ground.

Not a few minutes later I came across Alex as he sprinted with the most serious express humanly possible burnt onto his pale face. Four following him. Letting out a low quiet whistle I paused to watch him try his hardest to get away, his stamina running low and the puppets not slowing for a second.

Snickering I swung from the thick branch I was on to a different tree, "You really are a monkey you know?" Jumping in surprise as my feet found a new branch I came face to face with Adrain, who was hiding in some thick leaves.

"And you a coward," I smirked with a wink, jumping to the next tree as he let out a strangled shriek.

"Can't you help even if it's just a little?!" Pausing in the next tree I looked over my shoulder with a raised brow.

"And do what? I can't use magic and no potion of mine can go against those things, I'm not changing their orders and I sure as shit don't want to get beat into the ground, deal with it yourself,"

"But we already lost Jay! We can't run forever!"

"You ever wonder how I got here without one on my tail? Do you see what I'm doing? Using trees? They don't look up. Use the trees or die trying," I rolled my eyes abandoning him all the same. Next was a team one but I could do it myself if I had too, I'm not going to do all the work for them.

"W-wait! Lilith! Don't leave! Please! I'll die! I really will!" His pleas were ignored as I flung myself from one tree to another. Frowning when I reached a clearing I could not go around I stared at the cluttered puppets clearly waiting. The difficult part huh?

With a big sigh, I stood tall on the branch and cupped my hands around my mouth, shouting incomprehensibly. A few took the bait, others completely unresponsive. When they were close enough I leaped from the tree. My foot finding one's smooth faceless head as I didn't stop there.

Jumping from one to another I didn't stay for longer than a second, almost across the clearing before I slipped. Okay. That one was wet. Why was that on wet? Clenching my jaw I rolled to a run, about twenty of the things on my tail while I thanked the stars that they had a delay command.

Turning, I slid in the dirt as I stared at them, my chest heaving as they stopped at the tree line. This is only the easy part. The obstacle course was designed to shorten the list of students. The first fifty of every year is going to continue to the next round. That's how it was. But I didn't think it'd be so strenuous.

Catching my breath I shook my head before I jogged lightly through the next stretch of forest, that I've learned was just there to drain us further. One more. I just had one more. My eyes narrowed as the silhouette of someone else came into view. When did someone pass me? No one could have passed me...

Slowing to a stop silently I stared at it for a long while. No one could have passed me. Climbing a tree I moved noiselessly through them, focusing on being soundless rather than speed.

        Who in the world...?
