I make my way home, expecting to get there for 2:15am. Just before I enter my house, I detect the strong overpowering scent of smoke. Instinctively, I decide to follow the aroma.
The scent becomes stronger and stronger and I approach my neighbour's house.
I peep over the back garden fence that divides my house and their house up and see...

SASUKE?!?
I release myself from my tippy toes and go to the fence gate, unlock the lock, and push the door open.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing Sasuke? Why would you throw your life away like that?" I say as I snatch the cigarette from his hand and put it out.
"Where the hell did you come from?"
"We're neighbors...but that's not the point. Why are you doing this Sasuke?"
There is a silent pause but it wasn't awkward. Sasuke frowns but then chooses to speak up.
"Because...because this is how I cope now. Why do you care anyway?"
"There are better ways to cope Sasuke, and I care because we're friends who have experienced similar lives and you know that."
He opens his mouth to protest but then shuts it in acceptance that he knows I'm right. He sighs a long sigh.
"Can I stay at yours tonight Y/N?" He asks solemnly.
Not going to lie, I was very caught of guard by this.
"I just don't want to be alone right now," he mumbles.
This was very out of character for Sasuke. My little soft heart reaches out and grabs his wrist, lifts him off of the ground and walks him past the fence gate that divides our houses. We then enter my house.
"I'm sorry, it's an absolute mess in here. But look, I'm really tired so I'm just gonna shower and sleep. So do whatever you want."
He nods and I slip into the shower.

I come out of the shower and see Sasuke lying on the floor.
"You're not sleeping there Sasuke."
"Huh?"
"Get onto the bed."
My bed had enough space for two people. Although it wasn't really a bed. It was more like large matress on top of a wooden frame attached the floor about 10 inches high covered in sheets.
"Excuse me?" Sasuke raises his eyebrow.
"Just sleep on the bed. I'm not gonna give you a sore back. Plus i'm okay with sleeping together unless you aren't. I won't be offended."
He hesitantly nods and gets under the covers. I follow and get on the other side. Man he must be really tired.
"Night Y/N," Sasuke chimes.
"Night Duckbutt," I snicker.
