Peter woke in a sweat. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. Sometimes he'd have that dream. Often times he would ignore it, but in the beginning he thought it was a sign. Maybe the answer he was searching for would appear right outside his door. But he didn't think it would work out that way anytime soon.

The blip had just ended. Turns out he had disappeared for 5 years. He remembered the painful events of losing Tony Stark. Just more salt to apply on the wound. He was so angry and so unbelievably sad he just couldn't take it anymore. He punched his wall and yelled out, proceeding to sit on his bed and bury his face in his hands as he felt tears stinging his eyes. He sniffled and wiped some of his tears as he heard the doorbell ring.

He walked out into the hallway thinking of all the loses he's experienced but more intently thinking of his dream.

"The answer is right in front of you.."

What does it mean?!

He opened the door to reveal a girl his age standing there her E/C eyes glimmering with concern.

They stood in silence for a few seconds before she snapped out of it and introduced herself. "Oh! Um hi, my name is Y/N L/N.. I heard a thump from my apartment and wanted to see if anything was wrong!" She stood nervously with her hands at her sides waiting for his response.

"Oh yeah no- I just punched the wall nothings wrong!" He held his fist up and processed his own words, realizing that sounded like something was very much wrong.

"Your knuckles look like they're swelling. You should probably apply some ice.." she stated

"Oh right.." he walked into the kitchen leaving the door wide open and also leaving behind a very confused Y/N. He took ice out of the refrigerator and placed it in a bag holding it on his knuckles, soon after remembering about the poor girl who didn't know if it was rude to leave or annoying to stand at the door. He rushed back over to her. "Sorry! Would you uh like to come in?" He didn't know if it was the best idea to invite someone he didn't know into his house but he was Spider-Man! If anything bad happened he could handle it.

Y/N, desperate to avoid the awkwardness she so often caused, tried to make conversation. "So you never told me your name?"

"Me? Oh I'm Peter Parker."

She gasped.

Your POV

I remember that name. I've always remembered that name. I remember overhearing the conversation between the police and May. Well at least that's what I think her name was. The little boy who watched his uncle die after getting shot in a bank robbery was named Peter Parker. I never forgot how my mother tried so hard to save the man. And that's when I decided that's what I wanted to do. I wanted to save people like that. I know she failed, I never forgot, but I know she gave it her all and I knew that maybe one day I could be present at a similar situation. And maybe things would be different. So I decided that day, I was going to become a nurse.

"What's wrong?" Peter asked, referring to my gasp.

"O-Oh I just.. really like the color of the walls!" Nice one Y/N. I couldn't tell him the truth. What if he hated me and my mother for not being able to save his uncle that day. That would make this whole neighbor thing extremely difficult.
