2nd POV
"Hi Peter's Aunt!" You smiled the best smile you could muster, hoping to keep up the good impression. Last time she seemed a little nervous about opening the door, and you didn't blame her, living in this part of New York. But when she opened the door she seemed more mellow.
"Hello, waiting for Peter?" She responded with a soft smile. She seemed like a kind woman, who'd just gone through a lot of hurt. You assumed she'd had a close relationship with the man who was shot at the bank. Nonetheless she had a very affectionate look in her eyes when she looked at Peter, they clearly had a very close relationship and it made you smile. No wonder he was such a kind, Well-mannered, genuine person, he must've been raised by her. He had mentioned the death of his parents, even abruptly, so she must've been in charge to raise him, and she's obviously done a wonderful job.
"Bye May! See you later!" Peter yelled from across the hallway, now walking by your side to the stairs, since the elevator had stopped functioning yet again.
"Bye Peter, bye Peter's girl friend!" Peter stiffened and May clenched her jaw, awkwardly, she hadn't meant it to sound like they were dating, she just didn't remember her name yet.
"I um don't think she meant it like that," Peter chuckled
"Yeah, I know." You said casually, not affected at all by May's statement
"Oh." Peter had expected you to be embarrassed, he certainly was.
"I mean, we only met 3 days ago, you seem like the type of person who really wants to get to know someone before you even admit to having feelings for them, I'm the same." You said, smiling at him
"Yeah.. how'd you know that?" He questioned
"Just a guess." You teased.
"Well what else can you assume?" He asked
"About your love life or about you in general?"
"My love life huh? Bold of you to assume I have one." He grinned
"Except that you have, I'm assuming with MJ? You had feelings for each other but then decided you just weren't the best match?" You wasn't sure of myself, but you pretended to be
"How the heck?-" he flushed red, you found his clean profanity adorable.
"Just the way you pass looks, and try to leave the most space you can between each other when you sit side by side. You also seem to be weird around physical contact. The breakup was recent?"
"Um yeah, a week before you met me, one of the reasons I punched the wall." He smiled uncomfortably
"You don't have to answer if you'd like, but do you still have feelings for her?"
"You know.. I don't really know. Sometimes I just miss her, but then I wonder if maybe I don't miss her, but the feeling of someone liking me in that way, you know?"
"Yeah, yeah I know" You said very familiar with that feeling. You'd been in a relationship with a guy who only asked you out because he wanted to know if his ex girlfriend would care. She did. So that ended quickly. You'd never kissed him, rarely hugged him, rarely touched him at all really. However, you felt a sense of pride at him trusting you with something like that, it seemed a bit personal.
