If it weren't for the steady beeping of a heart monitor, you were sure that the only thing you would hear was the buzzing of the bright white light above you.
Your face was expressionless and your eyes had a newfound lack of life to them as you stared thoughtlessly up at the ceiling from your laid down position on your hospital bed.
"I'm sorry, we did everything we could, but only your life was spared. The only thing left of your fetus is-"
"Shut up! I dont want to know..." you let out in a shaken sob.
The doctor gave a sad look and rested a hand on your shoulder.
"I hope you feel well soon."
Never before in your life had you felt so lost. To make it worse was when Katsuki visited.
Throughout your relationship, there were only a few times were you remember him being sad. You felt terrible and guilty for making him so worried over you.
All you could do was watch his mouth move as he spoke words you couldn't seem to remember before bowing his head next to your side, shoulders shaking.
You could barely feel the extremely tight grip on your hand as your gaze turned up to the ceiling, your current state.
Blinking you decided it was time that you looked down. So you did, slowly moving your eyes and adjusting your head as your gaze traveled down your body.
"Flat."
That was your first and only thought. Your hand- the opposite of the one being held by Katsuki's and gently placed it on your stomach.
Even with that light of a touch you felt a bit of pain, the skin was most likely still gone and just barely healing. In reaction, your hand flinched upward to remove the pain, in turn making your body shake with it.
At the feeling, Katsuki looked up before following your line of sight down to where your hand hovered shakily over your no longer round belly.
You could feel the corners of your mouth twitching downward into a frown and tried to fight it as the familiar stingy feeling of crying washed over you.
All you could do in that moment was cry and ignore the pain of your wounds, physically and mentally, as your partner did his best at comforting you.

Social media was mo help. The doctor had demanded you see a therapist for the trauma so you did, but it wasn't easy when everywhere you went you saw news or people whispered or openly spoke about it.
You looked down at your phone as a cold feeling swept you, you were reading an article on the recent events of the world, and the comments seemed only focused on you, you understood a bit, you were married to one of the most popular heroes currently.
"I feel terrible! The poor girl went through so much."
"I heard that the villains targeted her on purpose!"
"Imma fire these fools"
"She deserved it! How dare she steal my husbando!"
"Heroes have no place making families!"
Switching off the device you held your face in one hand as you sat in the chair in the room that was once to be a nursery, now lonely and dusty.
