"Hey Y/n, how you doing?" The friendly voice broke into your gloomy thoughts softly.

"Oh. Kirishima I wasn't expecting you." You spoke quietly.

"Yea well, I was worried sense I havent seen you sense.... anyway are you feeling better?" He asked kindly.

"Better? I suppose, although I'm not exactly sure." You mumbled.

He frowned, "He's been worried ya know. Dumb boss wont let up on the work and is practically running in circles trying to solve all the cases so he can see you more."

"I wish he wouldn't, he could overwork himself, and I dont really need more people here telling me it's not my fault." You dryly laughed.

There was a slight pause before he spoke up again.

"Can you say that though? That it's not your fault?"

Your lips trembled again as you averted your eyes.

"No." Your voice cracked as you fought tears again, raising a hand to your mouth.

You didnt remember every feeling so defeated in your life. You were supposed to be a hero, and yet you couldn't even protect the one that was living inside you.

.

.

The doctors had done a great job, your stomach was practically healed and there was surprisingly no scar. You looked blankly in the mirror as your fingers lightly traced the area.

Each thought that came was slow and calm, almost like you were in a trance and not fully processing your actions.

You were snapped out of it when the door burst open. You looked over and saw Momo sweating heavily.

"I brought Shoto's card, whatever you desire will be yours now!" She shouted determinedly.

You blinked before speaking, "I dont want anything."

"What? But usually you're all over with suggestions." She spoke concernedly.

"Not today, Momo, maybe some other time." You sighed.

The black haired female frowned and let out a low sigh.

"If that's what you wish. Just dont forget that you can still talk to us." She said softly.

"I know." You looked at the floor as it fell silent before you heard her footsteps traveling away.

Your hand balled into a fist as your lip quivered, suddenly, you felt very alone.

.

.

"Alright, it's all fixed." The man told you.

"That's great, I really appreciate your work." You replied.

"Thanks, if you have any troubles with leaks or chipping paint from the ceiling make sure to give a call and I'll fix it again!" He said enthusiastically.

You nodded, "Everythings all set up, you can leave now."

"And I will," he picked up the paint can he brought and headed for the door before turning back to you,"Oh, and sorry for your loss, I cant even imagine how heartbreaking it was to loose your first kid, and before it was even born!"

"Yes. Goodbye." You gave him a push out the door before quickly closing it.

Just like a switch was flipped, the atmosphere of the house changed from airy and calm to sad and cold.

You walked back to your room, taking a small glance at the empty nursery as you went.
