Pete's POV.

I honestly wasnt expecting to actually carry through with Brendons stupid blind date idea. I usually just told him off and carried on with my life. Well, today he convinced me that the fella he was pairing me up with was just 'absolutely amazing' ,so I took his word and went with it.

I prepared myself, not too fancy but not dingy. Throwing on some black Jean's, a button up, and my favorite designer Jean jacket. I combed my bleached hair so I looked like I didnt just take a nap. Just as I was about to get on my way, I noticed the eyeliner on my dresser tempting me. I thought to myself, screw it. I put a small bit on, then went on my way.

I found myself feeling slightly excited on my car ride there. I was picturing what this mystery man looked like. I hoped Brendon set me up with a hot dude, rippling abs, dark hair, nice cheekbones. Yah, I might not actually date him, but maybe I'll have the chance at a one night stand. I didnt mind those, I didnt know if I was quite ready to be in a real relationship anyway. Plus, knowing Brendon, he probably picked out a guy with the same thoughts. I really hoped so, anyway.

I pulled into the restaurant parking lot. It was a local brewery place, Brendon had picked out a place he figured would, set the mood. I think he just wanted us to get drunk and make shitty choices. I wasnt complaining though. I was now kinda happy I took him up on the blind date offer. I was growing more excited every step I took closer to the door. I never really thought over how I would find this mystery man.

When I stepped in, I honestly just found myself looking for a very hot guy sitting by himself. The brewery was very full though, so it was kinda hard to see. I stood by the entrance by a wait to be seated sign. A red haired women with tattooed arms welcomed me, "Are you the guy that's here for the blind date?" I smiled, "Yah, how'd you know?" She chuckled, "Brendon made sure to tell me all about it." I smiled back at her, of course it was Brendon. He loved setting up these things.

The girl led me around the crowded interior out to an upstairs patio. Lights were strung around above and there was a little band playing, along with a bar. Now for the best part, my date. She placed me at a table by the edge of the roof, overlooking the beach front. Also, overlooking my date, and he was not what I expected. Dont get me wrong, he wasnt ugly, just not my type. He looked like he was in his early 20s, he had sideburns and longish hair, hidden underneath a black fedora. The mans outfit wasnt terrible, he had a blue button up, hidden underneath a cardigan he was wearing. He was also kinda chubby, again, not really my type. I figured I shouldn't judge him straight off though, Brendon seemed to be pretty sure about this, so I might as well give it a go.

I smiled st the red head infront of me, he smiled back nervously. I could see he was sweating slightly, this must be new to him or something. "Hi, I'm Pete by the way." I held out my hand, he shook it. The corners of his mouth flicked up and down for a moment, "Patrick Stump." Patrick smiled wide, he honestly had a nice smile, the corners of his eyes crinkled up. I fidgeted with the cuffs of my sleeve, before pulling off my jacket. I was sweating slightly from the summer heat. I thought of something to start small talk about. I noticed Patrick starring down at my tattoos.

"Yah like em?" I stuck my arms out for him to examine. He traced his finger gingerly along them. He reminded me of a curious young child, to be honest. He looked back up at me, I noticed how pretty his eyes were, they made his face more likable, if that doesn't sound rude. He smiled, shrugging,"They're amazing, I would get one if I wasnt such a pussy." I nodded, "Yah, they're a pain at first, but worth it, in my opinion. "

From there on, we began to talk more, mostly about our passions and music. We ordered our meals and a few drinks. By a few, I meant Patrick was now drunk and I figured I was the designated driver. Patrick ate his food and shifted between talking, eating, then drinking. I listened as he spoke enthusiastically about his passions, his words slurring slightly. The more I knew him, the more he grew on me. I enjoyed his happiness and cheery laugh. I enjoyed that he seemed to like me for my actual personality rather than my looks. Once we had finished our meals, I figured Patrick would probably need a ride home in his condition. I figured i might be able to bring him to my house and possibly get it on. I thought about it, as i looked over at Patrick, who was currently playing with the fry crumbs on his plate, still rambling on. I sighed, i would decide when we get there.

"Hey, 'Trick," he looked up, his cheeks were red and he had his coat off now, sleeves rolled up, his mouth parted slightly. "I'm gonna drive you home, m'kay?" He nodded, "I walked here," he smiled, grabbing his cardigan, nearly spilling the remains of his drink in the process. I wrapped my arm around him to support him as we wobbled down the stairs and out to the parking lot. He stopped in the center of the parking lot, I turned around to see what the hell Patrick was doing. He was looking over to the beach. He pointed to it, "Hey Pete, we should go there. Itll be fuuuun!" He smiled again at me, I figured I had nothing better to do. I grabbed his hand and we walked over to the beach. I enjoyed this boys company and the youthful spirit he had.

He dragged me over to where the waves crashed into the shore. The moon and stars reflected into the vast ocean, I smiled at the view. No, not just the scenery view, but the boy at my side. I was honestly glad i hadnt turned down Brendons blind date. Though i doubted the short, chubby kid at first, I'm happy I gave it a go. I looked down at him, and made my move and kissed him.
