Queen Bee || Sweet Pea

Chapter Five

After spending an hour stuck with Sweet Pea stuck in my brain it slowly faded over to Reggie. And that led me into calling Reggie later. Somehow our short conversation ended up with him crawling through my window in the middle of the night and falling onto my carpeted floor.

Springing up from my bed I peak out of the bedroom door not too sure if his thump woke up my parents. "What are we looking for?" A voice whispers in my ear, their breath tingling my neck. I insistently knew who it was considering he was the only one behind me. "I was making sure you didn't wake anyone up when you ever do gracefully fell through my window."

Making sure the coast is clear I turn to him shutting the door behind me. He sits on the edge of my bed scanning my room of the familiar pictures we had all taken together as children. Setting beside him I dangle my legs off of the bed playing with the edge of my silk shorts.

"I remember when we took that one." He points to a Polaroid of the three of us, Reggie, Cheryl, and I together at the river. Pulling one knee up to my chest I nod, my eyes beginning to feel heavy. Thoughts cross my mind of that day, we had so much fun there and now, the place felt like nothing but a bad memory. Which it was.

Scrunching my nose up I lean back pulling him with me. "Thanks for coming." I smile over at him. Turning onto his side he stares at me,confusion written all over his face. "What?" I ask setting up slightly. His face slowly contorts back to a normal grin we usually shared.

His hand reaches out gently pushing a strand of hair away from my face, spreading a blush across my cheeks. "Reggie." I whine gently pulling my blanket over my face in embarrassment. "What?" He laughs tugging at the blanket before peaking around it.

Yanking the blanket out of my hands, his breath spans across my face, making me notice our close proximity. Everything seems to slow down, my breath was hitched and my eyes were glued open staring into his dark ones. His eyes leave mine flickering down my face.

"Would you be mad if I kissed you?" He says just above a whisper. Caught up in the moment I shake my head no like the idiot I am. This was one of my best friends. Before I can take back my decision his lips meet mine making me melt into him. Gently pushing me backwards, I'm leaned up against the pillows, hands on his chest. This is definitely not what I wanted.

-the next day at school-
"You what?" Cheryl huffs leaning herself against the cold metal of my locker. "We may have kissed.... a little bit." I groan slamming the locker door shut and grabbing my bag off of the floor slinging it over my shoulder. Her heels click behind me quickly until she grabs my arm. "Aurora Green you sly dog." She gives me a cheeky grin before leading me into the bathroom.

Pulling my arm from hers I adjust my clothes in the mirror, popping a piece of gum in my mouth. "I don't want to be a sly dog, he just asked me if he could kiss me and I got caught up with him. That's all. No feelings or strings attached." I explain to her, watching her reapply her cherry red lip stick.

Sighing she tucks the tube back into her purse before glancing back up at me. "Well was he any good?" She pushes her way out of the bathroom, me hot on her tail. "Of course he was good." Rolling my eyes I bump into a warm body. Opening my eyes I look up to find none other than Sweet Pea.

Looking past him Cheryl had stopped by the Scooby Doo gang interrogating them at Jughead's locker. "Excuse me." I attempt to push past him before he grabs my wrist. "You. Me. Pop's?" He attempts before I shake my head no yanking my wrist away. "Absolutely not." I begin to walk away before his deep voice stops me. "Ah come on. I heard you were easy." My feet stop and my head spins around to him eyebrows furrowing.

"Oh yeah? And where'd you hear that?" I ask crossing my arms. "Mantle the Magnificent. He was telling everyone how you begged to be kissed." Hee raises an eyebrow, a strange look washing over his face, newly found anger washing over me.
