School was never my favorite place. Even though I was a princess, it wasn't a well known fact. I kept myself hidden and away from most people. Honestly I wasn't a people person with exception of my family.
I entered the school and thankfully slipped through the halls without running into anyone I disliked. Mainly the queen bee bitches we have around here. Specifically a certain white haired dragon bitch named Vivica and her minion Freya. They're both dragons but are daughters to the high council.
After the war for Earth the dragons decided to only have one king and queen, my parents. They decided to have a high council of dragons as well, but my parents ultimately decide everything, taking consideration of the council as well.
I made my way to my first class, which happens to be society class where we learn about the societies of both our planets and others.
I sat in my seat all the way to the back and a few minutes later my best friend, Echo, joined me. She was a pure dragon but not of any high ranking family. She had short jet black hair similar in color to my own. She had piercing purple eyes as all pure dragons have, and she was a bit taller and slimmer than I. Due to me being half human, my body shape is shorter than that of a normal dragons and also curvier.
"Happy birthday, Halfling!" she said with a smirk. She always called me that, but I never minded. It was only the truth, and to be honest I was proud of my heritage. My mother and father saved planet Earth, how could I not be proud of who I was born to?
"Thanks, Ec. Honestly, I'm excited to see how everything turns out," I said with a smile.
"Maybe you'll make a connection today like some of us do! And I can't wait to see your dragon! I'm sure you're gorgeous!" she said with excitement.
"We'll see," I said with a chuckle as the teacher walked in.
"Good morning, class," the teacher said. Our teacher was an older male dragon shifter named Mr. Talock. He was tall like my father and grandfather and had silver hair and the classic purple eyes. As usual he was greeted with a round of hellos and good mornings.
"Today we are learning about a planet not too distant from ours. It's known as the darkest planet around. Does anyone know what this planet is?" he asked looking around at the class.
Of course I knew what the planet was. I was the King's daughter, I always listened into conversations about affairs regarding other kingdoms and planets. I quickly raised my hand and Mr. Talock smiled.
"Yes, Miss Dracus?" he asked.
"It's planet Hellian," I stated with confidence.
"That is correct. Everyone get your notebooks out and prepare to take notes on the planet Hellian," he stated and continued once he saw that everyone had taken their notebooks and writing utensils out.
"Hellian is ruled by a single king. It doesn't have sections like Dyspheria because it is a smaller planet. The King of Hellian is currently Ozias Indominous and his wife is Queen Lavina. They have three children, the oldest being the one who will inherit the throne. In order of age there is Xavian the future king, Xiomara, and Rhaegar. The species of Hellian is not much different than our own, but are always dark in color and also have some other differences as you'll see in the pictures I will show," the teacher continued and then proceeded to explain everything else about Hellian and showed pictures of the royal family.
For some reason, the second my eyes landed on the man who Mr. Talock had pointed out as Xavian caught my eye. He was an extremely good looking man and he couldn't be much older than me. Though Mr. Talock didn't give ages, I could see this man was no more than five years older than me.
He had dark black hair, but it wasn't like the jet black hair of my father's or Echo's. It was a softer black that could almost be a hint of brown. In the picture his hair was styled up and he looked very proper and dressed well. I couldn't take my eyes off of him until the picture was switched.
After class, Echo and I walked to our lockers. She was giggling and making comments about Xavian.
"Wasn't he handsome? I saw you look at that picture too! Gosh he was so hot," she babbled. I could feel my cheeks grow red at the thought of me staring at Xavian's picture. Thankfully, I'd probably never meet the man.
The day went on as normal and at the end of the day I walked out of the building with Echo. My father was standing there waiting for me to walk me home as well as my uncle Zor.
"Dragons you know what?" Echo said next to me.
"What?" I asked, puzzled at what she had realized.
"Your dad and uncle are hot too!" she said and I just about choked on my spit and Echo began to laugh at me.
"They are NOT hot! That's my father and uncle we are talking about!" I yelled at her which only caused her to laugh harder.
"Whatever, Princess! I'll see you tomorrow! Bring your dad like usual!" she yelled as she walked away.
I walked up to my dad and Uncle Zor. "Hey birthday girl, how was your day?" my dad asked as he pulled me into a hug.
"It was good, we learned the usual stuff in every class except society class where we learned about Hellian," I responded with a shrug.
"Hellian, huh? That place even gives Zeek the creeps," Uncle Zor said with a chuckle.
"Everything gives Zeek the creeps," Dad answered with a scoff.
"Yeah, but it's Hellian. Hellian as in the planet of demons and darkness. I'd never go there unless I had to," Zor said.
"It didn't look that bad from the pictures, but I'm sure it's much worse than they'd show in a school class," I said as my cousins exited the school and walked up to us.
"Everyone ready?" Dad asked and he received a round of nods and yeses. We walked our way home, my cousins talking about their day to Uncle Zor while my father and I walked peacefully in silence.
