I was watching some videos today by a YouTuber called Rachel Maksy who does a series of videos called "But Make it Vintage" where she cosplays as a number of characters to adapts those character's looks to fit a vintage aesthetic.
I decided to make a design inspired by these videos for Annabeth Chase. The period I chose was the late Victorian- Edwardian era, one of my favorites.
Keep in mind, I can't sew and have no money so I'll probably never make this outfit.
Because most of the PJO/HOO books take place in the summer and in a camp setting, I decided to give Edwardian Annabeth a middy blouse. Middy or sailor blouses were popular in summertime athletic and leisure ware, especially with children and teens. To reflect the Camp Half-Blood t-shirts, this middy blouse would be orange.By the turn of the century, bloomers and knickerbockers had become common in women's athletic ware, particularly for bicycling outfits. They would be practical and period appropriate for a girl who spends her time fighting monsters and going on quests.
The outfit would be finished off with a pair of stockings and a sturdy pair of boots.
Annabeth is 12-17 over the course of the two series and in the Edwardian era, she would have worn her hair down: either in braids or pulled back with a ribbon. I chose the later because it resembles Annabeth's iconic ponytail more. In HOO, she might have graduated to wearing her hair up as girls did in their late teens.
I hope you enjoyed this. I was bored so I felt like making another random shit post
