I haven't seen Thomas all day and I'm starting to worry. Mom's sitting on the couch snoring and I was going to write but I'm too busy wondering about Thomas! There was no surprise on my pillow when I got home which was in itself different but even the little stinker himself wasn't there to greet me.
I looked under the beds, in all the cabinets, on our rusty, old swing set, and everywhere else I could think of when I heard a thud. It came from the attic and then I heard a muffled " oww"
What could he be doing that he has to be in the attic for? I knocked on the ceiling.
" hello? Is anyone up there?"
"Nooooo!!!" He hollered. I giggled.
The latch on the attic door was crooked and I unlatched it easily. There was small path of glitter leading to a cardboard box with just a glint of light escaping the top.
I knocked on the box gently and the room went silent. I knocked again.
" uh... no one is home! Please leave message... BEEP," Thomas yelled.
" Thomas? What are you doing in there huh?," I wondered.
The box opened slowly and a blonde head came slowly over the top. Then the blue eyes and pale skin followed along with two very sparkly hands.
He grabbed my hand and quickly pulled me and the box out of the attic to my room and sat cross cross apple sauce on my floor.
" So how are you today," he looked mischievous.
" I'm doing fine! How are you today?"
" Well, I have an idea," the glint in his eye shined brighter than the sun.
" And what is that?"
" Hmm... are you still... broken?" I flinched a little. I didn't like where this was going.
" I don't know buddy"
" I know how to fix you and Mommy and I'm making a plan!"
" Must be a very glittery plan," I chuckled. He showed me his hands covered with the sparkles, winked clumsily, and flopped back to the attic.
I looked at my hands and watched the little trail he left across my carpet sparkle in the sun coming from the window.
He's a mess, but he's such a cute, little mess that I can't do anything but smile and go get a broom and dust pan.
