☆Chapter 8☆ Singing

Hope's POV

Me and Daniel were cleaning a classroom when Daniel suddenly stopped wiping the floor.

''Daniel? Everything's alr-'' I started, walking to him.

''Should I perform?'' He asked me, out of the blue.

I looked at him incredulously.

He became red and looked down.

''F-Forget it! I-I'm stupid t-to think that I-I should p-perform... ''He said, looking sad.

''Sing,'' I said, sternly.

''W-What...?'' He said, looking up at me with wide-eyes.

''Sing,'' I repeated, still sternly. ''I mean, if you want me to judge if you should perform, I need to hear you.''

He looked around, looking if we were alone, and took a deep breath.

He started singing, and his voice sounded beautiful, even perfect.

Soon enough, I joined him into singing, smiling at his surprised face.

We finished the song, and he blushed when I smiled up to him, saying his voice is beautiful.

''Excuse me...'' We heard.

We both jumped, looking behind us frantically.

''W... What??'' Asked Daniel, embarrassed that someone heard him sing.

''H..Hi.'' Said Duke, who was at the door.

He waved at us, before looking at Daniel.

''L... Let's... Perform together at the festival.''

Daniel looked at him, completely shocked.

He was clearly not expecting that.

''I know it's crazy but let's do it. I was wrong about you. I feel honesty in your voice. I need you. Y... You must feel bad because of my proposal. I'm not trying to capitalize on you popularity. I'm confident in my rapping. We'll blow them away. Believe me,'' Said Duke with a red face, his eyes filled with hope as he looked at Daniel. ''If you want to hit me go ahead. But just think about it,'' He finished, sweating.

Daniel didn't answer right away but after a few moments he said;

''C... Can... Can I really do that?''

''Of course you can!'' I said, patting him on the back.

Duke then looked at me.

''Please don't be offended! Your voice is beautiful! It's just that... You know... I-I just don't feel comfortable with girls...'' He stammered.

''Don't worry!'' I said, patting his shoulder. ''I wasn't intending to perform anyway!''

Daniel looked at me, in complete shock before yelling a loud ''what?!''

''No Hope! You have to perform! Your voice is amazing!'' He said, putting his hands on my shoulders. ''People need to hear it!''

''Meh. I don't think so.'' I said, pushing his hands off of me. ''I'll pass thanks.''

Even Duke started to try to convince me and then, Daniel started doing to me the puppy eyes.

''Don't,'' I said, sternly.

''Pleaseeeee...''

''No.''

''Hope~'' He whined, gripping my arm.

I sighed and tried to ignore him.

But he was persistent.

REALLY persistent.
