To be honest, Melony's driving is absolutely horrifying. She drove like she owned the whole road, swerving in and out of the traffic that mostly consisted of revengeful yellow taxi cabs that would try to cut her off. Whenever one would actually cut her off, she lost her shit. I mean literally, she would basically start throwing out random curses and wish death upon the other drivers. The car ride felt like it was over an hour long, when in reality we were pulling up in front of a tall building and being ushered inside by a small blonde girl after about fifteen minutes.

"Where are we?" I ask quietly as we stand in another silence in a new elevator. I adjust my hair in the mirror as she presses down the twelfth floor button.

"The Dream Hotel. LaFroye likes the Ph-D Rooftop Lounge."

"Where is that place?"

"On the rooftop." Melony annunciates slowly, finally glancing at me. Her green eyes search over my face for something that she doesn't seem to find.

"Oh, yeah. I guess that makes sense." I admit. I'm so stupid. Melony shakes her head as the elevator doors slide open.

We step out into a luxurious corridor packed with bodies. Ice captures my right wrist again as Melony's dainty fingers grab me and start pulling me behind her. The bodies packed around us vary in age, height, gender, and race. There has to be at least 300 people here. The grip on my wrist tightens whenever somebody bumps into either Melony or myself and, unsurprisingly, she tries to murder them with her eyes.

As we walk past the bar, I catch Malik's dark eyes. He gives me a half-hearted smirk before going back and talking to the blonde guy with blue eyes I had seen the other day at the cafe with Melony. She finally releases my wrist when we reach the far right corner near the DJ. It wasn't as loud as I would have guessed, seeing as the speakers are facing the large crowd.

"Ah, I see you didn't wear that tie, my boy." LaFroye grimaces as he takes in my appearance.

"At least he has a blazer on." Melony defends me as she pokes at my black attire. LaFroye and her have a cold stare down as I stand there awkwardly, a dark haunted forest versus a dark angry thunderstorm.

"I suppose so." LaFroye finally says as he breaks eye contact and sits back down. He picks up a glass from the table and takes a long drink of it before placing it back down, empty.

"You should have a drink." He suggests while picking up a shot glass full of clear liquid and shoving it in my face.

I take the small cold glass from this sadist man and down it. My throat is instantly in flames as my stomach fills with heat. When I look down at Melony, she's no longer there.

"She's a fiesty little thing, isn't she?" LaFroye speaks after doing two more shots of straight tequila with no chaser or salt, or even a lime.

"Isn't that the understatement of the year!" I chuckle. How I'm sitting calmly next to this man, I'll never know.

"Once she gets her claws in you, you're done for it. There won't be no going back." He lights up a large dark cigar. "She'll be your death." He continues before taking a long drag and releasing a cloud of smoke from his thin chapped lips.
