The golden dragon lands with the upmost triumph and regalia expected. He must be from the Riders Council themselves. Adurnarissa then feeling my mischievous grin throws me a warning. If you make one crack at them I will singe your hair for a week. Almost challenging her I recant If you dont relax Adurna, Kvek will beat you in the flight test. She huffs in with upmost amusement. If anyone could beat me Dauth would. As she releases it she blows out trails of smoke from her nostrils. Reminding me not to test her patience today. Ok dont singe me. I removed wards that keep my hair intact. She stops and with a small sense of regret, but still tells me. Scared they might notice you work hard to look good. You need no help, your prince wouldn't judge you. I look at her and retort. As if, he only really cares because I try. I prefer he thinks its impossible than waste his time. Adurnarissa shakes her head. Maybe it is you who judges him too harsh. You have known him for 2 years and seen he is not like his family. I expected more from you Killian. I sulk and reply He is meant for great things and im not a part of it. Her last words break me You will never know if you keep this up.
The Rider speaks to us all "My name is Oromis and this is Glaeder." The Golden Dragon comes to us and says We are here to see if you are ready to travel to Vroengard. The city which our Order has called home for years. "You will meet many Riders and Dragons all with different interests and past times. However, every last one is a trained warrior. The Island has never been defended from an attack. Although King Palancar tried to rid of the riders. He failed and we have kept guard on his descendants ever since. The moral of the story is even those without magic or  dragons will come at us and we must be ready. I turn to Adurnarissa We already know the story its why we included humans in the Rider pact. The reason we included humans was to avoid another conflict with the humans and become of service to the whole of Alagaesia. The very first human riders came from Palancar Valley itself. Adurnarissa sends me the image of fire singing my hair and I immediately decide to be quiet. Oromis continues "You are the youngest group of Riders to be tested to go to Vroengard. Not since the beggining of the Riders has this been done. But we have heard of astonishing proficiency in Combat and Magic from your teachers Rezlo and Draven. Vrael and Umaroth would have been here but the council decided I should be here to avoid favoritism." Everyone stares at Damien. He turns red and I must admit he is unlike any elf ive ever met. Not even the slight bit of condescending authority Elves related to Vrael would display. I know how much Damien appreciates the gesture. Vrael knows Damien wants to stand by his own name. Avoid takingthe easy route like Reyhart would. In a sense I admire how not like everyone else he is.
Oromis turns to me and says "You seem most eager to begin." Adurnarissa perks up and I pick up my sword "Most definitely Ebrithil." He comments "Put a cover spell on your sword and take fighting stance." I do so and as soon as were done I lunge mysef at him holding my sword in both hands and swinging to his left shoulder. He ducks to the far left with a speed I have never seen. I catch myself as if on cue and slash upwards from the far right to left upwards. He catches my blade mid-swing with his sword and I am stuck on my knees. The effort bending my wrist but I have yet to give in. "This agression is very impressive, I can see why you served in the Kings Guard." I reply "An elf that is not quick with a sword is a dead one." Damien looks at me smiling and almost proud.  Its enough for Oromis to let me continue with my slash upwards as he side steps. He lets me loose balance and goes behind me with such effortless work. As I try to stand with my misguided blade he takes his chance and strikes my right hip. "Very good, however being good at close combat wont be the same as facing a Magician. where your focus and sword must not be so easily swayed." Catching myself back up "Yes Ebrithil." He continues "Next I will provide a series of exercises. Defend yourself with Magic or subdue me with your mind.  Many rocks quickly come flying at me as I yell "Adurna Ris ." The water splashes the rocks and they are taken, each being taken the way a honey bee would pollen from a flower. I try to breach his mind but his shield is impressive. I keep seeing only his sword Golden hue like Glaeder. With a ember colored gemstone in the pommel and a sharpness mellatic bronze hue in the hilt. While trying this he launches fireballs at me and I yell "Adurna Risa." the water from the lake comes over me and creates this bubble of water and the fireballs hit that. The shield absorbing and extinguishing the fireballs. Oromis stops and says "Very well." Everyone looks at me. Not wanting to cheer as he continues "Now young dragons, Glader will conduct his Test with you separately. You are still required to watch through the eyes of your Riders and see their Test as well." Adurnarissa and the dragons take off as she says Well done.
