Saturday 22nd November 1964

Jack and Jackie were sitting in the garden. They were silent.

“I can’t believe it’s been a year.” Jack said after some time.

“I know.”

Suddenly they heard a voice. “We’re out here.” Jackie exclaimed.

Joe appeared followed by Marilyn. Jackie got up quickly. “Marilyn she’s beautiful.” Jackie smiled gazing down at the month old baby in her arms.

“She looks so much like Joe.” Marilyn replied.

Jackie nodded in agreement.

Caroline came running out and jumped on Jack’s knee. John followed. “Wait to they get to this size they have too much energy.” Jack mumbled.

Joe grinned. “I’ll be quite happy when she starts sleeping through the night.”

Jack laughed. “Good luck with that.”

Jackie and Marilyn glanced at each other, sharing a smile.

Late Afternoon

After the Di Maggio’s had left it was just Jack and Jackie. “I’m sorry what I did to you Jackie.” Jack whispered.

“Its fine, I forgave you and you’ve stuck to your promise. That’s all that matters.”

Jack smiled and squeezed her hand. “I love you.”

She smiled. “I love you too.”

The Di Maggio’s Car

As they headed back to New York, Joe held his new daughter. “I’m so glad I changed my mind. I really missed you.” Marilyn smiled.

“I missed you too.”

“I think everything worked out for the better for everyone.”

“I agree.”

She kissed his cheek before taking her daughter’s tiny hand. She had never been happier.

In the end, Marilyn and Joe remained happily married up until Marilyn’s death in 2001, Joe died the following year. Their daughter followed her mother’s career path and became a famous Hollywood actress. Jack and Jackie remained together, happily in the Appalachian Mountains. No one ever discovered JFK didn’t die in Dallas and his legacy lives on. In reality, Jackie died in May 1994 and Jack a few months later. Caroline grew up to become US Ambassador to Japan and John became the owner of George Magazine. He followed his father’s choice and faked his own death in 1999 with his wife Carolyn, in the end they moved into his parents Appalachian House and they have two children.
