Everything was dark…and I felt cold. I looked around. I did feel like I was standing on something but I couldn’t see it. I stomped my foot and a crack appeared under me. I froze and it didn’t grow. I sighed in relief. I saw a white light in front of me. Am I dead? As I took a step forward I heard a voice.
“Don’t go any further.” It was soft and frail. I felt my heart skip a beat…I think. I turned around and saw a teenage girl. She had brownish blonde hair and blue eyes. She had her hands behind her back and she looked slightly frail.
“Don’t go any further…or you won’t meet me.” She said with a small smile. I raised an eyebrow in confusion. She stepped forward until she was a few feet away from me. I tried to speak but I wasn’t able to.
“If you have any questions those will be answered in time.” She said. I looked down and saw the crack growing larger. I looked back up at the girl.
“Looks like our time here is up.” She said and faded. I looked down and saw the crack split open. A light emitted from the opening. Next thing I know the crack split under me and I fell. The Light enveloped me and I became blinded. The light dimmed and the ceiling of a hospital room came into view. I sat up but laid back down when I felt a sharp pain.
“Adam you’re alive!” I heard my mom yell and I looked to the side to see my mom with a smile and her eyes full of tears. I looked around the room and saw my friends. They looked like they wanted to tackle me. I saw Amanda with a smile on her face and Scott next to her. He looked disappointed.
“My side feels like it’s on fire.” I groaned and held my side lightly as not to cause anymore damage that had been done. I looked at Scott out of the corner of my eye and a smirk had formed on his face. That sadistic bastard!
“I’m so glad you’re ok.” I heard Amanda say as she wrapped her arms around me lightly as not to hurt me. I saw the smirk on Scott’s face melt and a look of anger replaced it.I just ignored it and looked at him out of the corner of my eye with a blank expression.

I was alone in my hospital room and I lifted up my gown to look at where I had got stabbed. I saw the stitches and I traced my finger along it. I was Lucky to be alive. I put my gown down and looked at the ceiling. Who was that girl? What did she mean by don’t go any further…or you won’t meet me? I turned my head and looked at the bed side table at my notebook my mom brought me earlier. I looked back at the ceiling and closed my eyes.
*****
I opened my eyes and I saw that I was back in that pitch black area again. I looked around and my eyes landed on that girl from earlier. I ran oer until we were a few feet away and she greeted me with a small smile.
“I’m glad you chose to stay. You’ll meet me soon…but you’ll only see me then.” She said and I looked at her in confusion.
“Why?” I asked taking a step forward and she took a step back.
“Because I live to far for us to see each other regularly.” With that she faded and I felt my eyes close.
*****
I opened my eyes and looked out the window to see that it was day. I sat up slowly and put my head in my hands. Who was that girl and what does she mean by all this. Hell is she even real or am I just going crazy? I noticed a nurse placing a tray on the bed side table and walk out of the room without acknowledging me.
“Well someone’s rude…” I mumbled and reached over slowly and grabbed the tray. After I finished eating the food, which didn’t really taste good, I grabbed the notebook and opened to a chapter I had been working on. I wrote for a couple hours and my hand started to cramp. I closed the note book and set it next to me. When I did that Amanda poked her head into the room.
“How you feeling?” She asked. I sighed.
“I”m bored, my breakfast tasted like cardboard, I can’t write right now because my hand is cramping up and my side still hurts but not as much.” I said while counting everything on my not cramped hand. She giggled and walked in.
“It smells even more weird than it did yesterday.” She said and looked out into the hall and motioned for someone to come in. She sighed in frustration and dragged the person in…it was the girl.
“Adam this is Alli she’s my cousin. She lives in Michigan but she’s here for a visit. Also I told her about you and…she’s actually a fan of yours from wattpad.” She stood with her hands behind her back and she stared at the floor.
“Well…nice to m-meet you Alli.” I said as I felt a surge of pain in my side. Amanda took the blue and white fedora off her head, walked over to me and placed it on my head.
“A present from me and Alli. Mostly Alli now you two get to know each other while I go find a snack machine.” With that she placed Alli in a seat next to me and walked out.
"So...what now?" I asked.
