Hey lovelies, just a little filler chapter for you. Super short but I hope you enjoy xx
I run my fingers over Harry's face, tracing over his brows, nose, lips, cheeks and jaw line. He looks so peaceful sleeping, as the confusion and fear that littered his features earlier this morning were nowhere to be found. I smile softly to myself as I run my thumb of his soft, pink lips. Harry's breathing changes from steady and deep to shallow and quickened.
"Good morning," Harry says as he finally wakes up. "How long were you doing that?"
"What, tracing your face?" He hums. "I don't know, few minutes." He nods and sits up.
"Did you sleep good?"
"No."
"Any particular reason why?"
"Nope," I say popping the 'p'. "Just couldn't stay asleep, kept waking up." He nods and gives me a kiss.
"I'm gonna go get a shower, wanna join?" Harry offers.
"I'm good. I think I'm gonna go cook breakfast." Harry nods before getting out of bed and grabbing a change of clothes. He leaves the room as I crawl out of bed. I walk down the stairs quietly as I adjust my pajamas.
"Good morning, Ireland. How did you sleep?" Nona asks as I enter the kitchen. I give her a smile and nod.
"Good," I lie.
"I was just about to make breakfast, would you like to join?" She offers and I nod.
Today marks one week since the cabin was attacked. Harry and the lads went back to see if there was anything left, but the fire department got there too late. They were able to salvage a few things, but other than those few things we had nothing. We went out earlier this week and bought a few pairs of clothes and some necessities but other than that Nona supplied us with everything we needed.
"So how long have you and Harry been together?" Nona asks me.
"Since Christmas," I tell her and she smiles.
"Ahh, I see. Four years ago this previous Christmas my husband, Stephen, left me for some prostitute." My eyes go wide and she chuckles at me.
"He was worthless anyway," she adds causing me to nod as she gives me a smile. "Unlike the lad you have."
"Yeah, Harry's a pretty great guy."
"If he ever hurts you, you let nana Nona know and I'll take care of him." I bark out a laugh and she smiles at me before breaking and egg.
"This will be his face," she says as she cracks another egg. I gasp and laugh as she whisks the pancake mix harshly. She and I laugh and continue to make stupid jokes and talk about Harry and Stephen until breakfast is done. Once it's done, we call the lads in so we can all eat together. We all grab a plate and fill them with either pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage, or a combination of them. We all sit at the dining table and begin eating. After my first plate, I surprisingly go back for more. Harry gives me a confused look and I shrug as I grab some more pancakes, I was starving.
We all make small conversation throughout breakfast and laugh along at each other's stories. My favorite was Niall telling us about the time he was boxing with Liam for money and slipped in his own blood from the floor, fell and knocked himself out. Liam said it was the easiest 300 bucks he's ever made. Nona shares stories about her husband and about her time within the gang and I share stories about my family. I do my best to not let my feelings and thoughts of my family get to me, but I fail.
"Is everyone finished? I'll do the dishes," I say picking up my plate as I stand. I grab the empty plates and enter the kitchen and begin running the water. After i rinse off the plates and glasses, I begin running the fish water and adding in the soap.
"You doin all right, love?" Nona asks coming into the kitchen. I sniffle and look over at her. I give her a weak smile and she frowns.
"Talk to nana Nona. What's on your mind."
"It's weird, Nona. I haven't been able to talk to my mom so I haven't heard anything about her in months, which that should worry me, but I've been so caught up in this gang that I don't give her a second thought most days. It hurts my heart to know I could just forget my own mother like that, but it's life I guess."
"Did you have a good relationship with her?"
"I did, until my father died. I think she blamed me for it, you know? I was there the night he died, I've always felt like she blames me." She nods and pats me on the cheek.
"You can't stop people from dying, you can only teach them how to live." I nod at her words and she smiles before shooing me off.
"Go, I'll take care of these." I give her a smile and she returns one before I make my way to the couch. I turn on some HGTV before slowly losing myself in the television shows.
