Love at First Sight

Chapter 9

Hayes' POV

Today was the day. It was Lauren's 17th birthday and I wanted to do something special for her.

I told Becca to get her out of the house so I could decorate and set up. I asked Lauren's mom to help. We invited everyone from school. It's gonna be huge. I had my friends over and we started to set up.

We put up the volleyball net in the pool since Lauren loves volleyball. My mom and Lauren's mom started to make some snacks and they're baking a cake. Me and the guys got a ton of balloons and put helium in some so they'd float and others we blew up and threw in the pool.

We got smoke machines and a ton of colored lights and set them up around the yard. We set up a food and drinks table and put up a HAPPY BIRTHDAY banner. It looked great. Finally it was 4:00 and the party started at 5:00. I thanked all the guys for helping and went to get ready.

I took a quick shower and went to pick out what to wear. I decided to look nice since I was gonna ask Lauren to be my girlfriend tonight. I put on a light blue button down shirt and tan khakis. I slipped on my black vans and headed downstairs. There were already a few people here so I just waited outside for Lauren and Becca to get back.

I was looking around waiting for Lauren when I saw her. Why was she here? She's gonna ruin this whole night for me and of course she's walking right over to me. "Hey babe!" oh god I thought. "Don't call me that. We broke up Ashley. Why don't you go find your new boyfriend Logan." I started to walk away when someone grabbed me. I turned around and was so mad to see who grabbed me...
