Love at First Sight

Chapter 14

Hayes' POV

Me and Stacy (Lauren's mom) were sitting in Lauren's room, talking when a doctor walked in. "are you Lauren's mom?" She asked. Stacy nodded and they walked into the hallway. I walked over to Lauren's bed and looked at her beautiful sleeping face. "Please wake up Lauren." I said and placed a light kiss on her forehead.

Stacy walked back in crying her eyes out. "What happened?!" I asked Stacy. "Lauren might have lost her memory and she severely broke her leg and arm. But the worst part of all... She might never be able to play volleyball ever again. And she can't snowboard anymore." Stacy was crying even more now.

I was in shock. I didn't know what to say. I couldn't picture Lauren not doing what she loves anymore. I was planning on taming her snowboarding next week and I was gonna ask her out but I guess that's not gonna happen.

"When is she supposed to wake up?" I asked Stacy who was still crying.

"They're not sure yet but they said at least another 3 days."

I felt so bad. I can't believe Ashley and Lucas did this to her. I'm gonna protect her from now on and I'm not gonna let anything happen to her.

Just then the doctor walked in and told us that we had to leave because they had to do some testing. Stacy stayed in the waiting room and I decided to go home and get a few things and then go back. I called Nash to come and pick me up.

He got there about 5 minutes later and drove me home. I ran inside and grabbed some clothes for tonight and tomorrow and then I grabbed my charger, laptop, snacks, and my phone. I ran back out to Nash's car and we started driving back to the hospital.

"You really like her don't you bro?" Nash asked me. I didn't just like her... I loved her.

"No Nash, I love her. The love of my life is in the hospital right now. The worst part is, she might not even remember me. I can't tell her I love her if she doesn't remember me. Then she'll think I'm a freak and she won't talk to me ever again."

"It's ok bro, everything will work out!" Nash said. he was right.

"Thanks Nash! Text you later! bye!" I got out of Nash's car and saw Stacy sitting in the waiting room. I walked in and sat down next to her.

"Hey Stacy! are we aloud to go back in and see her yet?" I asked really hoping I could see her.

"Yeah! You can go in Hayes and one of her old friends is in there too!"

I didn't even hear the last part of her sentence. I was already sprinting to her room.

I finally got to her room and I walked in and I was not happy with what I saw...
