It was pitch black and you heard nothing, felt nothing and sensed nothing. You tried to open your eyes. You were alone and only darkness surrounded you. You turned around, but there was nothing.
"Hey is someone there?"
No response.
You started walking forward, but you felt like you were going nowhere. You turned your head on your left.
"Father?"
He was standing a couple of meters away from you, smiling.
"I'm so sorry Y/n, " he sniffed, "it's nice to hear you calling me your father, but I can't let you come just yet, okay?"
He made totally no sense to you, so you started shaking your head, "wha- what do you mean 'not yet' come where exactly?"
A tear escaped from his eye, "so you don't remember what happened, do you?"
You lift your brow at him, "where's everyone?"
"Don't be afraid, my child, it will only take a while."
Then the image of him faded into nothingness, you ran to catch the pieces, but then you realized you had started to fade too. You stopped and looked at your hands starting to fade into the air in tiny fragments.
"What? DAD!"
It was dark, you felt a warm hand behind your head and another one over your waist blocking your wound from bleeding. Even though you had already lost too much blood. You opened your eyes troubled and slowly. Your vision was weak and shady, you couldn't even hear clearly at the start. As you got your vision back by bits you separated blond hair and emerald green eyes, his face was covered in dirt, bruises, and blood, but it was him, alive and okay. Finally, you understood what had happened, so I lost it again.
You raised your cleaner hand on his cheek and smiled.
"Hi, shortie."
Shocked he couldn't even look back at you, lonely salty tears started flowing down on his cheeks as he realized what you had already accepted. You raised your bloody hand on his other cheek and it got stained with a red handprint of yours, then you turned his head gently towards yours.
"Hey, Mel don't cry, please?" You smiled gently, "it's gonna be okay, everything will be fine trust me, I'm not scared and it's not your fault so no need to worry right."
His eyes weren't catching yours, "Meliodas look at me."
Refusing his eyes finally met yours, their beautiful green color over shined the redness around that enchanting color. Cold tears started filling your eyes as you realized you'd never see those emeralds again, but you couldn't help but smile. You were glad that he found you that day, god knows what could've happened. You were more than grateful for having a mentor like him who taught you everything. Who showed you the right ways. Of course, it made you sad to leave that behind, but it comforted you to know that he'll be left into good hands.
"It's better this way."
He looked back to the ground and shortly after back to you, "how is this better? How this is fine? Why're you so calm with all this? And you out of everyone should know that I can't stand watching the people I care die in front of me since you know about the curse you know I've been trying to struggle against it. How did this even happen? I just, I just ca-"
"We both know life isn't always fair I mean my father was Gloxinia after all. And I know what you're up against, but someone so strong as you, you'll find a way around. Especially with such good friends on your side together you're invincible, okay. Eli is an amazing girl you know that she'll be there to fight the fight with you, you chose well. You two belong, right." You looked away for a second as more tears started to wet your face.
