19. Fateful encounter

And in no time after accepting the offer you met up with him on a safe range from the kingdom and a bit further away from the bar too.

"Yeash, Y/n let's fight with all we got, it's been a while since we battled off, hasn't it?" The carefree blond teased.

"You seem to want a full fight, don't you? You're so full of yourself as always, you wanted it to get dark, gosh." You shook your head with a helpless smile.

"Kay then I don't hold back if you get hurt it's because of your own stupidy, deal?" You add.

"Teehee, I expect nothing less." He grinned.

"Yeii, Captain versus Y/n!!" You hear a familiar giant's voice.

You look to the terrace of the tavern and see everyone gazing at the two of you.

"So you brought up an audience..." You sigh with a friendly tone.

"Sate, I only told Elizabeth, since she's going to heal us afterward." He thought out loud.

Of course, you told her, you thought.

"Y/n and Meliodas please be careful!" Elizabeth shouts after Diane.

"Wait, Ban you too?" You shout at them after spotting him.

"I gotta see how to beat you when we continue our fight, " he comes up with.

"Oh, I see hold that thought after I beat him you're up next." You take up the challenge and turn back to regain your concentration.

"Beat me huh?" He talks back with a voice only you heard.

"Please, promise me one thing before we start. If I go out of control, " you bit your lip out of disgust. You couldn't still be quite sure whether you were able to go all the way without losing it, so you just had to make sure everything would go alright if you did, "stop me. Whatever it takes."

You don't wait for an answer just clench your swords against his.

Neither of you even budged, but the ground beneath you broke down a bit and the strong pressure of the air made everyone hold on to something meters away from you two, which showed cracks of your powers battling up against each other.

In a blink of an eye you were behind him, but he was quick enough to block it again. You tried again multiple times on multiple sides and directions with no luck. You took some distance with backflips and hand standings and all, still holding onto your swords in both of your hands.

"How about we start fighting serious this time?" He smirked placing his hands on the back of his head.

You placed one of your swords back, "someones getting cocky, aren't they?" You grinned back.

"It's crazy how Y/n has gotten Captain on defensive!" Diane stated exited and stared at the two of you with a spark in her eyes.

"Nah it's obvious Captain isn't trying his best," Ban tiredly joined the conversation leaning on a chair eyes closed.

"You're not even watching!" She whined back.

"They both are holding back an enormous amount of magic power at the moment and while Y/n's powers are way behind of Captains hers are rising quickly if he doesn't make an end to this before it's too late he'll have a hard time even being on defensive against her." Merlin's voice reached everyone, she had teleported right behind them.

"Merlin? Why would you come here?" Diane asks surprised.

"No way I'd miss upon a good fight." She smirked.
