After getting in grey pregnancy sweatpants, and a black t shirt, Papa grabbed my hospital bags and helped me into his truck, his wife sitting in the back.

"Are you nervous?" my sweet grandfather asked me, with a bit of worry on his face.

"A little. Well, a lot." I tried to laugh as I put my hand over my stomach, feeling another contraction.

"Six minutes apart darlin." my step grandmother said to me.

"We should be there in ten minutes." Papa added, driving slow so bumps in the road wouldn't give me any more pain than I was already in.

"I can't wait to meet my great granddaughter." his wife said, making me want to sling my head back and tell her that Baelynn is not her blood. However, we were starting to get along, and she was being incredibly kind to me, so I decided against it. Not to mention, I was staying at their home for the next few months. Actually, it's not their home. It's my Papa's.

"Your contractions are coming very quick. I'm surprised since it's your first baby." she said, almost making it sound like I was having more kids. Was she crazy? No one would want to date a nineteen year old girl with a baby.

I hadn't realized that tears were streaming down my cheeks until my grandfather grabbed my shoulder, giving me the most horrified and helpless expression I had ever seen from him.

"Everything's going to be ok. Labor will hurt, but think about all the joy afterwards." he told me, making his wife and I cock our heads at him.

"Honey you need to shut your damn mouth." she said, making me bust out in laughter. "You ain't the one pushing a baby out of ya!"

If I didn't know any better, I was thinking I was starting to like her. No, that's crazy. My actual grandmother should be here with me right now, not her.

Looking out the window, I saw the North Okaloosa Medical Center in view. This was really happening.

Pulling up in the emergency section where the ambulances are supposed to be, my grandfather hopped out and opened my door to assist me.

"Sir you're not supposed to be parked here. This is ambulance parking only." he said, making my grandfather give him a glare.

"Listen buddy, my granddaughter's in labor. I'd be damned if I didn't bring her here. Now shut the hell up and get her a wheel chair." I had never seen my grandfather so openly angry, and it honestly made me want to laugh.

"Sir you're going to need to park somewhere else. Unless you're a paramedic or firefighter, which you definitely aren't, you need to park yourself elsewhere."
"Listen buster." my grandfather walked past him, and into the entry to fetch a wheelchair before coming back to me. "I don't give one damn on who's supposed to be parked here. And actually, I reckon her father is a firefighter so why don't you go back to where you came from and move the hell out of my way."

Damn Papa!

"Come on sweetheart let's get you in the wheelchair." he said, completely changing moods as he smiled at me while he helped me sit down.

"Owww!" I said, grabbing ahold of my stomach, receiving another wonderful contraction.

"Sweet pea your phone's ringing." my step grandmother had the nerve to say while Papa wheeled me into the emergency room. "Want me to answer it?"

"I don't care." I whined, not raising my voice at all, just focusing on the pain I was going through.

She took my phone out of my purse and walked into the waiting room, while a nurse took my wheelchair and brought me to triage.
