"Where's Virgil?!"
Patton was gripping his hair in a stressful way, and looked at Roman in distress. Logan walked over to the two sides and crossed his arms.
"Patton, you know as well as I would that he's probably in his room." Logan said. Roman held a hand up and narrowed his eyes toward the logical side.
"Logan," He said.
"What? I'm right, aren't I not?" He asked.
"Yes, you are, as per usual, but look at him." Roman said, pointing to the moral one of the three. Patton was pacing up and down by two steps, and was grabbing onto the tied sleeves of his sweater.
"He's nervous over Virgil, correct?" Logan asked. Roman nodded.
"He's scared about what he's doing alone in his room, and honestly, he's not alone." He said. Logan looked up and down at Roman in astonishment.
"Virgil's always in his room, this isn't something so different from normal." Logan said. Roman face palmed.
"He's scared Virgil is being self destructive, because of what Remus was implying up there." He said. Logan nodded in understanding as they both looked at the pacing Patton, trying to understand what to do.
"I'm going to check on him." Patton blurted out to the two of them. Roman held out a hand and grabbed Patton's shoulder to hold him in place.
"That's not a good idea, Patton, he's in his angry and scared form. He is in a very rare form of himself, and he probably doesn't want anyone around." Logan said. Roman looked to Logan and nodded in agreement.
"He's my son, I'm going to check on him." Patton said through gritted teeth. Roman let him go immediately, but went and called to him from behind.
"He isn't your real son, Patton." Roman said. Patton turned around and huffed.
"I don't care what he is, I love him, and it's high time you realize that you do too." He said. With that he turned around and started his great adventure down the deep, dark hallway that would lead him to Virgil's room. Logan looked to Roman with wide eyes.
"He doesn't get that way often." He said. Roman rolled his eyes.
"Like I didn't notice." He said. Logan shrugged and turned around.
"Where are you going?" Roman asked.
"To my room, to make sure Thomas isn't imbalanced." He said. With that he left Roman alone in the common room, to which he sat down and waited for Patton to return to.

Virgil was sitting in the corner of the stairs of his bedroom with spider webs hanging above him. He was also hugging his knees to his chest as he tried to control his breathing. Though, at the rate at which he was fidgeting, it was a hard thing to do.
Virgil had hurt Thomas, that was all that ran through his mind. He felt a gargantuan feeling to start running away, but there was no where to go. He had a massive pain of guilt sitting in the pit of his stomach, and he knew it wouldn't subside for a while. It was his one vow that he swore not to break again, yet here he was, secluded in his room, alone, trying to deal with the fact that imperfection is inevitable.
It sounded more like a dilemma Logan would have to him than his own.
"Virg?"
Virgil silently cursed to himself.
"Virg, he, you in here?" Patton asked. Virgil put his head down atop his knees as Patton popped up in his place by the spider curtains.
"I am gosh darn scared of these things." He said, pointing to the curtains. Virgil waved a shaky hand and soon enough the curtains turned into a spider web design instead of a spider design. Patton smiled to himself, feeling as if he achieved in a way.
"Thank you." He said. Virgil started to cry into his knees at that moment, he just wanted to be alone.
"Virg?" He asked. Virgil sniffed.
"GO AWAY." He said, his tone deep and emphasized. Patton was taken aback by the fact that it had remained in that state from when Remus was up above with them.
"I just want to talk buddy." He said. Virgil sobbed harder, he didn't want to look at him.
"I DON'T WANT TO TALK," He said. "LEAVE ME ALONE."
"Virgil, break down to me what's happening. Is that okay?" Patton asked. Virgil finally looked up to Patton with sorrow in his eyes.
"NO," He said. Patton gave him a reassuring smile.
"It's okay, kiddo. Breathe." He said. Virgil shrunk bak and spotted to lean his back on the steps.
"PATTON GO AWAY," He said. Patton sighed and reached an hand out to him.
"You can count on me kid." He said. Virgil shook his head.
"PATTON, I SAID GO AWAY, I ALREADY HURT THOMAS I DON'T NEED YOU HURT TOO," He said. Patton shook his head.
"You could never hurt me, kiddo." He said. He was nearing closer to Virgil, and Virgil was backing away.
"FOR THE LAST TIME, GO AWAY!" He said. Patton only brushed his hands against the fidgeting side before he was pushed back against the wall by the sheer force of Virgil's panic. Soon all was silent, and Patton was laying on the ground.
"Dad?" Virgil asked. Patton stirred as Virgil inched near him. Patton looked up at Virgil with teary eyes.
"Come out when you're ready, kiddo." Was all the moral side said before he teleported away from Virgil's room. Virgil started to cry in Patton's place, and was back in his fetal position again.
"WHY DO I DO THIS? WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE ME?" He asked. He asked it mainly to the universe, to the air in front of him. HE had no one to go to now. Logan would never understand, and the butterflies he felt around Roman hurt in his stomach just as much as the guilt that wracked him in that moment.
Roman flooded his thoughts suddenly, and the barrier he had built collapsed. All of his own fantasies started to emerge, only with the silent belief that he was not worth any of them. All of the thoughts he hid and avoided thinking of burst into his mind then. Logan was correct, repression never worked. Yet here he was, wishing on contradicting thoughts of him kissing Roman, and not being worthy enough to do it.
He continued to cry on the floor, he forgot about the need to control his breath a long time ago.

"Don't go in there."
Patton emerged from the hallway, and Roman stood up. He noticed Patton was bruised and his glasses were shattered.
"Pat, what happened? What did he do to you?" He asked urgently
"He got scared, Roman. I pushed too far. He's going to come out when he needs us, okay? For now just, wait. Please?" He asked. With that he teleported back to his room and left Roman alone in the main quarters.
Roman huffed and looked around, there was no one to spy on him. He decided that he was going to go there himself and sort it out. Let his impulse guide him into the hopeful realms of love for Virgil, regardless if he was setting himself up for heartbreak.
No one, was hurting his crush, even if it was Virgil himself.
