Sadly the next morning brings no clarity and even the prospect of school can't shake away my bad feelings.

"Rose, have you seen my purple ribbon?"

"No Jas I haven't"

"Rose I have to find it, I'm not going to school without it"

"Jas just wear one of the million other ones you own"

"No I have to wear the purple one"

"Why what's the difference"

"Not that it's any of your business but Jake said that he liked my hair with the purple ribbon"

"All of this over a boy? Seriously you are boy crazy lately"

"Yeah well I don't expect you understand, you've never even looked at a boy"

"Yeah well I just don't see the point right now I want to get good grades and have the best possible future"

"Rose you are going to be fine in the future, you know everything, and you're at the top of all of your classes. You'll get offered one of the best jobs and you know it"

"Even if that's true Jas it doesn't mean I should become complacent"

"Whatever just help me find my ribbon?"

"You mean the ribbon that's around wrist"

"ROSE you couldn't have told me sooner?"

"Well I could of but then it wouldn't be this funny"

"You are the worst sister in the world you know that"

"Yeah yeah just go get re-Jasmine why are you wearing mums necklace?"

"I think it suits me"

"Oh do you now, it's not some piece of costume jewellery you can just use to make yourself look prettier for boys you know"

"Rose it's just a necklace"

"Just a necklace? It's the only thing we have left of mum, Jas"

"You mean the woman who abandoned us"

"Jas we don't know that"

"Oh yeah then why hasn't she come back yet?"

"Jas stop it, just please don't wear that necklace to school okay"

"Fine whatever, I'm getting dad to give me a ride"

"Brat"

"Stuck up Nerd"

"Urrrrgh I wouldn't take you to school anyway"

God she is so annoying. How can she be so callous about mum's necklace? Doesn't she miss mum at all. Some days I wish mum was here so badly, I have so many questions and nobody to answer them. Dad never has any answers when I ask him. I can tell it really hurts him to think about it. The love of his life just disappeared one day never to be seen again. I know Jas misses her too even if she is to cool to show it. How did I get such a brat for a sister? All she cares about is boys, it's ridiculous. She always has to be wearing her skirt too short and her make up caked on. I mean why bother it's not like she'll get a choice anyway. We get our perfect match through the dating sites and that's who we have for the rest of our lives. No point getting all gooey eyed over boys that you'll probably never see again.

Okay well with stupid brat sister out of the way, I suppose I can get ready and get to school myself.
