As all of the groups were being evacuated, a field worker came over to me. He supplied me with the materials required to successfully defuse the bomb. After a quick thank you, he and everyone else were gone.

I guess I'm on my own for this one.

I managed to unscrew the lid of the bomb without setting it off. The wires and fuse boxes inside taunted me.

8 minutes left.

It was a fairly easy contraption to say the least. The process of defusing the bomb would be fast and simple.

I began to cut colored wire after colored wire. I made sure to pull out the specific ones that should be and leave the wires that had to stay attached in the contraption.

3 minutes left.

My job was almost done, with a bunch of time to spare! I knew I shouldn't jump the gun right now, but with all of the terrible events that have happened on this mission, I can't help but feel some relief.

2 minutes left.

As soon as I was about to shut down the bomb for good, I heard it. A crying child.

My head turned every which way. I slowly rose from my kneeling position, on high alert.

As I turned back to finish defusing the bomb, the cry only intensified, and turned into screaming.

I quickly went down the hallway, trying to find the child.

"Hello?" I called out.

"HELP ME!" The child cried out.

"I'm coming!" My pace quickened.

Searching for thirty seconds provided me the answer to my concerns.

A speaker was on the ground, with a child's prerecorded plea for help.

"Uh oh." I ran back to the bomb as fast as I could.

Four seconds left.

I quickly cut the last cord.

Two seconds left.

I pulled down the switch with as much force as I could muster.

The clock stopped.

.342 seconds left.

I let myself fall to the ground, my heart racing. I wiped sweat from my brow, and continued breathing rapidly.

"Bomb defused...over." I mumbled into my com as I stood back up.

"Are you alright, [y/n]? You are short of breath." 76 responded.

"Yes...I'm okay...how is Angela?" Her well-being was the only thing on my mind.

"She's stable."

Oh thank God!

I couldn't help but let a smile play upon the corners of my lips.

"Okay, [y/n], now we are going to come up to you once more." 76 sounded as if he were in a tunnel.

"Alright, I'll stay right h-"

Before I could finish my sentence, I felt a blunt object collide with the back of my head.

I fell to the ground and let out a small groan.

I quickly rolled to the right, just barely dodging another attempted blow to my head.

I kicked the attacker back with all the strength I could muster. I quickly returned to my feet, and dodged a few more jabs.

I managed to grip the blunt object, which I identified as a metal bar, from the attacker's grasp.

"You want to know where the children are, huh?" The attacker's voice was oddly familiar.

"Don't you dare lay a hand on them, Overwatch can and will take you and any person connected to this case down!" Adrenaline pumped through my veins as I confidentially took a step closer.

"You don't wanna do this, Ms. [l/n]."

"I don't care what you think, unless you tell me how to get to those kids." I meant business.

"I've seen you on the cameras, with that girl...what's her name...Angela Ziegler!" The man taunted me, as I seemed slightly taken aback.

"What about her?" I grew more irritated and angry by the second.

"One of my men shot her, and let me tell you a little secret, sweetheart!"

"What?!" I growled, the thought of something being wrong with Angela made me feel distraught.

"That bullet...is not just any kind of bullet!" A smile formed across the man's voice.

"What did you do?!" I couldn't stop a tear from falling from my face.

76 told me she was stable...is this guy playing me?!

"It's poison takes two hours to settle in, sweetheart." His smirk revealed yellow and rotting teeth.

"No!" I made a quick jab with the pipe at the man. It made direct contact with his eye.

"OH MY GOD-" The man screamed. "I thought you were nicer when we talked over the com..." He fell to his knees in pain. Blood seeped through the gaps between his fingers.

"Oh dear." I quickly ran away.

I turned my com on. "THE BULLET IS POISONED!"

"What are you talking about?!" 76's gruff voice immediately responded.

"ANGELA'S BEEN POISONED BY THE BUL-"

I felt another blow to the back of my head. As soon as I fell, I felt my legs being dragged.

Unable to move, I blinked in and out of consciousness.

One more blow hit my head, this time in the temple.

"[y/n] do you read me?!" Was the last thing I heard before everything went black.
