Chapter IV

SHANNA

Music: The Moon Appeared from Sexy Parodius

Progress report about 30 minutes after leaving the cave: Well, according to Ariana, we were getting closer and closer to our intended destination, but other than that, I got nothing.

Eventually, we did come across a forest about two hours after we had set out. It wasn't special or anything, we just had to go through it. As we ventured through the forest, no one really said anything. I guess it was because we were all focused on our goal, and also no one was really in the mood to start a conversation. Sean and I karate-chopped through any branches in our way.

When we exited the forest, Sam took note of the fact that Sean wasn't with us. Ariana sighed, "Oh, for the love of God," and ran back into the forest to look for him. She came back about 20 seconds later with him.

"Next time, don't be a big idiot, why don't ya?" she muttered when they returned.

Then we went back to walking, walking, walking. It was pretty boring, so I decided to pass the time with a conversation. "What do you guys think is happening to Luke?"

Joseph answered first. "Stuff."

"Torture, maybe?" Sean shrugged.

"Shanna... you've never been concerned about Luke this way before... do you like him?" Elle teased, giggling a bit.

"What!? No! That is preposterous!" I exclaimed. "It's just that... he's the most powerful out of all of us. If they figure that out, then..."

"You're right, Shanna. We better be quick," Heath started to speed up. "I'll keep aerial view." Then he floated up into the sky, looking down upon the Earth. Or at least, the very small part of Earth we were walking on.

Sometimes, Heath's jumping skills can be helpful.

JOSEPH

Because I was curious, I turned to Elle and whispered, "She's telling the truth, isn't she?"

Elle closed her eyes for a second, then turned back to me and whispered back, "Yeah. She doesn't actually like Luke, she's just worried for him."

"Drat." we both laughed at that, and then Shanna gave us a glare to make us shut up.

A few minutes later, we came across a bunch of men and a log. The men's clothes were ripped up horribly, and they looked like they'd been living out in the wild for weeks, maybe months on end. And what was on the log, you may ask? A man that they were feasting on.

"Oh great. Cannibals," Sam sighed. "Let's just make it past them and hope they don't-"

Before he could say "notice us", that's exactly what the cannibals did. They directed our attention straight to us, and one yelled, "MM, MORE HUMANS!"

Sensing danger, Heath jumped over their heads and came down like a large branch. Quavando turned into a dragon and started to fight the cannibals. Unfortunately, the cannibals had better brains than we thought, because they manipulated Heath to the point where instead of landing on them, he fell on his behind. Quavando ended up biting his own tail by mistake.

Elle tried to change their feelings, but one cannibal held her in an armlock and Sam had to rescue her. Then he beat the crap out of him, and ended up getting poked in the behind by another one.

Sean and Shanna dashed towards the cannibals, ready to strike, but a boulder was thrown at them, forcing a retreat. Everyone huddled near me, and I shielded us all, right as Ariana forced the boulder to change direction.

"Well, that was a close one," Abbey said, breathing a sigh of relief.

"Let's keep moving forwards," Isabelle said.

And that's what we did. At least, for the next minute or so. Then I felt myself becoming slightly drowsy, and Elle moaned, "I'm feeling kinda weak here..."

Then I lost consciousness.
