Chapter VI

SHANNA

Only 2 hours after we had been imprisoned, I was already starting to lose patience. "This is stupid. Why is he keeping us hostage?"

"He did say until further notice, so he's going to release us eventually. Besides, this place isn't that bad," Quavando pointed out. I simply gave him an "are you serious" type of look.

"What? He'll probably feed us. It's not the end of the world, Shanna," Quavando sighed.

"Quavando, quit it," Heath sternly demanded. Joseph opened his mouth to speak then instantly closed it again. "She has valid reasoning here. We'll get out of here eventually, but this man has Luke. We have no idea what he wants, or what his intentions are."

"Y'know, I don't mind leaving him behind," Elle smirked.

"Elle, you stop it as well."

She rolled her eyes and sighed, and Sam muttered, "There's gotta be a way out of this place..." as he began scanning the walls, looking for any viable methods of escape.

"Face it, Sam. It's not possible," Abbey sighed, but Ariana looked hopeful.

"...Is now a bad time to mention that I can open doors with my mind?" she asked, looking a little sheepish. All of us looked at her in a mixture of bewilderment, anger, and confusion.

"ARIANA!? You could've done this a long time ago!" Isabelle shouted.

"I know, but I was waiting for Sam to have a plan."

"And now I do," Sam smirked, a satisfied smile on his face. "Ariana, you need to let us out, and then we'll split up. Heath, Sean, Shanna, Elle, and I will try and find anyone who has information on how to dehypnotize Luke. The rest of you will search for an alternate way out. Understand?"

"Seems like the best idea we've got at the moment," Sean muttered.

"Then it's settled," Sam said, a bit of determination in his voice.

"But we should wait until the time is right," Ariana suggested. "From what I can tell, there's usually guards patrolling the hallways. I'll keep an eye out and let you know when the time is right."

"Sounds good," I mumbled. All of us went silent again after that.

I didn't care at this point. I just wanted out.

ABBEY

Music: Heavy Blow from Gradius ReBirth

Only about 15 minutes after the plan had been decided, Ariana whispered to us, "Okay. Coast is clear." I then heard the click of the door being unlocked, and then opened.

The 10 of us quietly stepped out into the hallway, and split up into our decided teams. I was with Ariana, Isabelle, Quavando, and Joseph. Our goal was to find an escape route so we could leave this mansion easily, just in case.

About a minute or so into our search, I told the guys, "Okay, it's pretty safe to say right now that we really don't want to do this with you."

"I bet," Joseph muttered.

"So why don't we split guys and girls? We can cover a lot more ground quicker, and maybe have a better chance of finding something," Quavando suggested.

"Fine by me," Isabelle replied, and Ariana and I nodded our approval. So the three of us went off on our own. We found a few doors, but all of them were entrances to rooms of the mansion, and usually they contained no windows.
