30~Revelations

Everest's POV

"Come on tour with me."

I stare at him with wide eyes, my lips slightly parted and stomach twisted in knots. "What?" Was I all could say, the one word that I could process at the moment.

"Come on tour with me," he repeats, a small smile etching on his face. "You know, you and me with the band, traveling the roads together." He lightly chuckles. I continue to stare at him with a stunned expression, unable to function anything. "Everest."

I blink my eyes numerous times and break our gaze, staring down at my empty salad bowl. My heart begins to beat rapidly against my ribcage and a million questions consume my every thought.

And for some odd reason, I randomly begin to chuckle. What the hell is wrong with me? But he has to be joking right? "Ha, you're funny!" I lightly laugh. "You nearly got me there. For a second or two I thought you were being serious." I nervously chuckle. Nothing about his expression shows a bit of tease. He's just staring at me with a slight confused expression, with his lips pulled into a straight line and his emerald eyes narrowed at me.

The corners of my lips slowly droop downward into a frown. "You're not joking are you?"

He shakes his head and lightly breathes out the word, "No."

Now I just feel dumb. I begin to gnaw on my lower lip, scared to say anything that would hurt him. All these mixed emotions swarm inside my body like bees swarming their nest and they seem to be untamable. I mean, what is he thinking? I understand why he wants me to go and all, I'm not stupid, but on tour? A six month tour? I can't... no, I can't. There are too many variables to his plan, too many things that could go wrong. I have to say no.

"Harry," I sigh in disbelief. "Harry, I can't just drop everything I have here in LA and go on tour with you," I say as slow as ever, biting my lower lip harshly. "I have a family and a career here, and you know I have an auditioning coming up soon. I can't go, I'm sorry."

I look up without even thinking, my eyes finding Harry's. His eyes flicker and they are no longer meeting mine. I study his expression very carefully. A mixture of disbelief and sadness swallows him whole as he slouches his back against the seat.

"Hey," I softly say, his eyes flickering again. "Let's not think about that right now. We came here to have a date, not to talk about the bad things, okay. Let's just... end it." I firmly state, immediately dropping the conversation; although it still consumes my thoughts. "Let's talk about, um... ponies."

"Ponies?" Harry dumbfounded, a small smirk my eyes were craving to see all night tugs at his lips.

"Yes!" I exclaim, lightly laughing at how stupid we're both being. But still, what really captures my attention about this whole thing is the fact that he was so... serious. He really wants me to go. I just, I just can't, for obvious reasons. Like, if I did want to go, Simon would never allow it, not to mention Leah would have a fit about it. I bet she would have her chilly arctic eyes on me the whole time, just watching my every move, waiting for me to screw up. Leah's such an ass, and yet I believed she was one of those nice business women who was always kindhearted to people and her clients. Ha, guess not.

Harry lightly chuckles at my childlike behavior, his dimples carving deeply into his cheeks. "Well, before we talk about "ponies", I just want to ask you one more question."

I instantly groan at that. "Harryyyyy, nooooooo!" I whine, rubbing my fingers over my temples.

"'Sure, Harry, ask away, I don't mind'," he mocks me, shaking his head with the small smirk. I playfully roll my eyes, glaring in his direction.
