My Instagram username is lizlizwild, because my name is Elizabeth Wilding. It just made sense, plus it's my username for like everything. I had found him on Instagram and requested to follow him. It's weird because we never followed each other, even though we have gone to the same school for over three years now. Of course he let me follow him and he followed me back immediately.
The next day he walked into class and said, "What's up, lizlizwild!?" It totally took me by surprise.
"That's my Instagram name," I said.
"I know," he smiled and sat down next to me. Ever since that day he calls me lizlizwild or lizliz, basically what ever came to mind he calls me. He even started screaming it in the hallway when I walked past him. I never knew what to say back, so most of the time I either smiled or waved. I would always think of clever comebacks to say, but I never had the courage.
People started catching on to all the little nicknames. Now instead of Elizabeth, people called me Lizzie or Liz. People never use to call me by my nicknames, only my friends did.
Your probably thinking by now, "Why don't you like him!?" None of the things he did made me like him. All the little hints he dropped still left me clueless. Until this something happened that completely opened my eyes.
It was the morning of Valentine's Day. Nothing that morning went right. I looked through my closet, trying to decide on an outfit to wear. I settled to wear a sequined red shirt with black leggings, trying to look a little Valentine-ish. My hair was a greasy mess, but I didn't have any time to take a shower. I brushed my hair back in a pony tail and threw on a black Nike headband.
This day went just like any normal Valentine's Day had in the past, just without squealing kids handing out Valentines. I walked into 5th hour with Daphne, just like I normally did. Our teacher decided that since it was a holiday, that we could sit wherever we wanted. He got up and went to sit next to his friend, who sat diagonally behind me. Daphne came and sat in his seat.
She passed out our worksheets and A couple minutes later I got up to check my work on the answer sheet across the room. I could hear Daphne talking to him, but I couldn't make out any specific words. When I almost got back to my seat, Daphne said, "Just tell her already!" I looked at him, thinking he was going to say something stupid, but he didn't.
"I think your hot," he said. My face turned bright red, just as red as my shirt. I quickly replied thanks and sat down as quick as I could. No ones has ever told me I was hot. Ever. And then there's this kid.
All of my friends started laughing, and to make matters worse, Daphne shouts "Liz your face is so red!" I said I just yawned, but she didn't fall for it. I went home and thought about it all weekend.
That's the first time I've ever blushed because of someone. At that moment I knew that I liked him. All it took was one sentence and a look into those bright blue eyes to know I was in big trouble.
