Every year the 8th graders took a week long trip to Washington D.C. I'm pretty sure everyone was excited to go but me. I was really nervous. So nervous that it gave me anxiety a couple weeks before we left.

I guess I was just nervous to see who was going to be in my hotel room. The Thursday before we left for D.C., we found out everything-our buses, our rooms and our chaperones.

All the lists were going to be posted at lunch. There I sat in 3rd hour, sick to my stomach, waiting for the bell to ring. When it did, everyone ran to lunch like second graders. Our principle was calling everyone up by table to look at the lists. Of course my table was one of the last tables called up.

I walked nervously up to see who was in my room. I felt so relieved to see that all of my friends were in my room-Daphne, Lexi and Maddie.

Next I look at the bus lists. Daphne, Lexi and Maddie are on my bus, along with some of my other friends. I notice that a lot of hockey boys are on my bus.

It just hit me that he is a hockey player. I frantically start looking to see if his name is on my bus list. There it is. I get to spend a whole entire week with him.

Is this a blessing, or a curse?
