Winter Rain

I'm standing by this window, looking at my reflection
I'm still trying to see what you saw in me
Or rather, what you damaged
All those pieces of broken glass in my heart
Can't be swept away that easily
But you know that by now
You know me enough to make me cry, to make me laugh
To make me stand in the rain in front of your house
But I've had my share of laughter and tears
I've had my share of heartbreak too
So every time l look into your eyes l don't want to see you
I don't want to remember the taste of your lips
Or the way you seemed to take me into the deep
Until l felt like drowning, until l felt like giving in
To the waves of emotion, to the swaying sea
I don't want to remember that anymore

I'm standing by this window, looking at my reflection
And its raining outside
But even this winter rain can't wash my heart
So I'll wash it myself
Until all traces of your darkness and your light
Are gone forever
