~ Rebecca's POV ~
It had felt like ages, centuries, since I'd had the chance to see Tom. He left for the first leg of the Night Songs World Tour and it had been about six months since I've seen him.
You know how it goes, the age-old story of the poor rockstar who has to leave his beloved girlfriend back at home while he goes and does god knows what with other girls while he's gone. And I was the poor girlfriend that was left all alone at home.
I didn't mind being away from him, because our love was all still the same when we talked on the phone, and when we did finally get to see each other in person. It was the same magic, the same chemistry and electricity, that we've always had.
He got back yesterday, and after we did our usual shenanigans, we had slept until the late afternoon. I was so happy to wake up with him by my side, it barely felt real at this point.
"Rebecca, get up," Tom said, laying himself beside me, wrapping his arm tightly around my waist.
"Five more minutes," I said, groaning.
"C'mon," he said.
"Maybe I'd be getting up faster if you hadn't kept me up so late last night," I said lowly and somewhat smugly, turning so that we were facing one another.
"Excuse me," he said sweetly. "But I just wanted to spend some quality time with my girl."
"Well said," I said, chuckling lightly.
His lips helplessly fell into an innocent smile, one that lit up every fiber of my being. His smile was contagious, intoxicating, and soon one was on my lips as well.
"I have something special for you," he said suddenly.
"Yeah?" I asked, trying to read his expression but having a hard time looking past his charming smile and the way that it made me feel. "What's that?"
"It's a surprise," he said quietly.
Tom and surprises did not go well. Last year for my birthday, he had decided to plan me a surprise birthday party. Little did he know that he accidentally sent me an invite to the party too, right to my apartment. I couldn't help but chuckle to myself when I had to pretend like I was surprised on the actual day of my birthday. I never told him though.
Then there was the time that he tried to surprise me with a kitten, but he didn't know that I was allergic. My friend ended up taking the kitten...but it was a disaster to say the least.
I loved him for trying though, it meant a lot. But when he said he had a surprise for me, I couldn't help but get concerned.
"What kind of surprise?" I asked, trying my best to play along and act like I'm all cool and nonchalant.
"I had Eric bring it here for you," he spoke, so excited for me to see. His eyes sparkled in the morning light and I couldn't help but feel his excitement. "It's outside."
"Out-outside?" I asked, taken aback.
Outside spelled trouble. I was somehow more nervous now.
"So c'mon," he said, sitting up and grabbing onto my arms so that I would sit up to. "Get dressed so you can go see."
"Okay, okay," I said, getting up and slumping off to my closet so I could throw on a pair of shorts and a Mötley Crüe t-shirt.
"Couldn't even wear one of my t-shirts?" Tom asked after he saw me tug on my choice for the day.
"Maybe if you'd get me one," I teased as he led me down the stairs.
