'Please Beca. Please stop him.' Chloe thought in her mind as she saw the brunette shooting towards the boy next to Emily.
Said girl jumped out of her skin as Beca launched herself forward and tackled the unsuspecting wizard to the ground.
"Beca!" Emily shouted as Beca got back up and glared at Nilrem before turning to Emily.
"What are you-"
"Don't." Beca cut her sister of by raising a hand. "We've talked about this. Whenever there's a boy involved; you come and tell me."
"But it's only Nilrem. Not some stranger." The young girl pointed to the blonde boy who was sitting up on the ground.
"I don't care. I don't know him that well yet and to me he's a stranger. And I'm not going to let you go with anyone I don't trust; understand?" The two girls stared at each other, trying to get the other to back down.
Chloe on the other hand kept her gaze fixed on Nilrem. "What were you putting around her neck?"
Beca was a little surprised at the ginger's tone. She had never heard that accusing and cold tone from Chloe before. Usually it was all bubbly and squeaking, but now? Beca could've sworn the vampire had a bit of dislike in her eyes.
Stacie looked around and saw a glinting object on the grass and went to pick it up, instantly regretting as she did so.
It was a necklace with small capsules tied to it like a pearl necklace. When she picked it up, some of the capsules were broken and from them came a bit of what looked like sand.
Once she took a hold of it her hand burned as if she was stroking a blazing phoenix. She let out a scream of pain before dropping the necklace and clutching her hand.
"Stacie!" Aubrey was next to the brunette in a second as a concerned Emily checked her hand causing some of the strange sand to come onto her own.
Emily thought it was a strange grey colour, but didn't think much of it and returned her attention to her friend.
Aubrey was gently holding Stacie's hand while said girl had small tears in her eyes caused by the pain.
"What did you do to her?!" the blonde vampire accused the wizard with daggers in her eyes.
"It's the necklace," Nilrem raised his hands in surrender as the rest of the delinquents appeared from the house, wondering what all the commotion was about.
Aubrey let go of Stacie's hand and walked over to pick up the necklace.
"Wait!" Nilrem exclaimed as she reached down for it. He stood up took in his hands and put it his jacket's pocket.
"What's going on?" Jessica hovered closer with Ashley and Amy beside her.
"This...... THING!" Aubrey pointed to Nilrem, who everyone by now had their eyes on. "He was doing something to Emily and then burned Stacie's hand!"
They all turned and saw Emily gently holding Stacie's hand to try and soothe the taller girl.
"I didn't mean to do that!" Nilrem defended himself as he was uncomfortable with all the angry glares he was receiving. "The necklace I gave her is enchanted. Only Emily and I can touch it without burning. It's to keep it from ever getting stolen."
"Why did you give her a necklace in the first place?" Beca stepped closer to the wizard, her tone calm but dangerous. "I thought that tackle made it quite clear that there WILL NOT be any dating."
"Beca," Emily groaned and rolled her eyes. "It was a thank you gift because I just picked up his groceries when he had some late classes."
"A gift a bit too fancy for a simple favour don't you think?" Chloe asked before crossing her arms in front of her chest.
