You are going through an existential crisis, when your struggle with existential anxiety reaches a crisis point, because of a tragic event or the cumulative effect of a series of of personal circumstances.

This crisis reflects a growing belief that there is no point going on, because all the values, beliefs, and meanings -- the very foundations upon which you have built your life have collapsed, and your sense of self-worth and agency has been destroyed.

Suddenly, you feel that you have become a worthless bug, without potency and without hope.

Prolonged existential crisis may result in depression or suicide, when it is is not properly managed by a therapist with existential competency.

Existential competency is needed to manage such a crisis.
