*Reader P.O.V.*
Rudely awoken by the blaring of my alarm clock, I rolled over in my covers and punched the little box off of the nightstand, that should do the trick. Stretching my arms over my head I sighed as the light from the outside world snuck in through the cheap, crapily made curtains, time to get up I guess. Throwing my legs over the edge of the bed, feet not quite reaching the floor, I threw on some fluffy socks and hopped down from the king size. Turning around to open the blinds I felt a shiver down my back as a small breeze bounced through the lonely room. My girlfriend had been working the night shift and had yet to make it home, this was no surprise at it happens often, my only option was to sit and wait as I usually do.

Grabbing the first warmer looking article of clothing I saw, I threw it onto my small frame to make up for the warmth I was lacking. Gently pulling the fabric over my nose I took a deep breath, yep, that's her alright, nothing like the smell of perfume (with a tiny hint of smoke but we'll ignore that). Walking out of the trashed bedroom I hear a faint meow echoing from the lounge, smiling I walked over to the beautiful, black sphynx cat perched on the sofa arm. I lifted her into my arms, cradling her like a little baby and planted a soft kiss onto her head, "Morning Luci," I couldn't help but grin "going to keep me company till mum gets home?" she gently purrs and nuzzles her head against my chest, I'll take that as a yes. Setting her down gently I took a seat on the scratched sofa, grabbing the remote I turned on the flat screen I had nabbed as a part of Black Friday, had to fight off some Karen's for that. Suddenly the news anchors face shows up, sat behind a nicely presented desk as usual, no way anyone keeps their work space that neat, but whatever. He was talking about some flooding that had happened down south, but I quickly turn away from that, who enjoys watching the news anyway? Instead I turn to the "kids" channels, pulling up Adventure Time, cute, fun and way more entertaining than that boring old news guy.

Smiling as the opening plays I relax back into the sofa cushion, pulling the hoodie sleeves to cover my hands, I'm not sure what episode it was, but I enjoy them all so who cares. The screen picture Marceline and PB, of course, just chatting and laughing with one another. A daunting feeling of loneliness swept over me, sighing I turn it off and reach for my phone. No notifications. Don't know what else I expected. Letting out a heavy sigh I trudge my way into the kitchen, as I should probably grab some breakfast, self care and all that right? Only issue being, this kitchen is definitely not build for me, I can't reach most things in here if I try, so all my items tend to go on the bottom shelves or the cabinets under the worktops, however, being the morning, I just wanted some cereal, a light meal y'know? But the cereal is always always always put on the top shelf, quite why I have no clue, so I was going to have to struggle for it.

Preparing myself I roll up my sleeves so that they don't fall over my hands when trying to grab something, and do my best to hop up on the counter, pulling my knees up onto the limited surface area. Cautiously i leant back a little to open the cupboard, nearly losing my balance I hold my body against the shelves, that was a close one. Reaching up for the cereal I try to grab the box, it was just out of my reach as I could only get it by the tip of my finger, trying to stand a little I feel my body start to fall, unable to catch myself I close my eyes tight and wait for impact.

"Woah!" I hear a voice shout, heavy footsteps running up from behind me, letting out a semi scream I prepare to hit the ground, but instead feel the tight grip of two strong arms embracing me from behind and pulling me tight to their body. "Val!" I smile widely, turning around to wrap my legs around her wait and throw my arms over her shoulders, squeezing her tight. She giggles and kisses my forehead "Hey dimwit." She grins, holding me up. "What on earth do you think you're doing?" I shrug and yawn "Grabbing breakfast, duh." She rolls her eyes and sets me down onto the tile floor, grabbing the Cheerios box with ease and pushing it against my chest jokingly "There you go gremlin." we both smile and share a laugh over a bowl of cereal each.

*Val P.O.V.*
Closing the black curtains of the bedroom I go to turn in, pausing as I see (Y/N) curled up on the right side against the wall, hogging the covers mind you. Being as quiet as I can I slip under what minuscule bit of cover she isn't using and plant a gentle kiss on the top of her head. Reaching over to my nightstand I grab her DS to play some Pokémon, I'd finished the game a while ago but the dex was still incomplete, ugh. Turning the volume all the way down I open up the screen with a quiet click and turn it on, having adjusted to the dark room I definitely wasn't prepared for the blaring light of the DS screen, they really need a brightness option. Turning it off almost immediately I hear (Y/N) mumur next to me, laying down next to her I manage to steal just enough covers back to sleep well, no games for tonight then...

I am so so sorry this took so long, I know I said I'd be back but I got totally sidetracked but here we are, I hope it's good enough as it's my first tome properly writing a long part for a while, as you can tell by the lateness of this it took a while to feel like I could do it without just sitting her pulling a mind blank.
