Noise

She's been listening to the epiphany
what people said shan't be substance
Some say she's derogatory
She's the only one with resistance

Their preach stalks us in the cities
You're looking up at the speakers
All of the words are repeating
Even if you didn't let them hear us

That face of yours is too fictitious
You're tied up in some puppet strings
None of the rhythms belong to us
They belong to greater things

Nothing ever was so mechanical
As the people we're made to love
No genuine is tyrannical
Why should creativity be stopped?

Poem explanation:
Most of these poems were originally meant to be songs but I was lazy and turned them into poetry.
This poem/pensioner song was meant to reflect on how corrupt the modern music industry is since many companies buy attractive people and play songs repeating the millennial whoop.
My opinion is that modern music is degrading and creativity is shunned because of record labels being scared to try and fund artists who are more "out there".
So they play these simplistic songs everywhere, in the supermarkets, in ads, on the radio to force you to remember them and since the human brain likes familiar things - we like the songs.
I'm not here to attack anybody who likes modern music, I'm here voicing my opinion on the matter through my own art form, poetry.
Thank you for reading such a long explanation - no other poems will need such a long explanation, if any at all haha - hope you all have a lovely day <3
