There was an oyster

Who wouldn't come out from his shell

And a pretty girl came

Tapped him against a rock to show him the world

The sky was grey

Yet the little oyster didn't hide again

Oyster asked the girl

Would she take his pearl

Please don't throw it away, hold it by your heart

So that even when we part

I can still be with you

He saw it reflected in her eyes, glistening blue

Why of course little oyster

I'll be more than happy to

Little oyster could hear the waves ebbing and crashing far away

He'd been out of the water far too long

He had nothing more to say

So those were his final words

Goodnight little oyster, said the girl

Yet the sky remained quite pale

As she left, a seagull came and swallowed the oyster whole

Yet she and the seagull didn't feel quite full
