RaphShimmer: Matter of Family

Quadruple Date

Mikey's P.OV.

For the next few weeks, I've been hanging out with Pinkie Pie. She and I actually have a lot in common. We both love comedy and we both love to party, and we have a mutual love for sweets! I'm really starting to feel something for her. Donnie's been hanging out with this cute girl he met at the mall known as Rarity, a mutual friend of Pinkie's, and they hang out when Donnie isn't working. I'm happy for Donnie. He's got good taste in girls. But every now and then Donnie and I experience the same dreams. In these dreams, I'm a large talking turtle with an orange bandana, and Donnie's also a turtle with a purple bandana, and Raph's in the dream. So weird. I haven't told Pinkie yet. She'd probably think I'm crazy.

Anyway, I'm on my one-hour lunch at work, so I go to the Sugarcube Corner to visit Pinkie on my skateboard. I see her there, and she happily says, "Hi Mikey!" I smile and say, "Hey Pinks. How you doing today?" Pinkie smiled and said, "I'm doing well. Everyone's really wanting ice cream. You want your usual creamsicle?" I took out my wallet and said, "You know it, Pinks." I paid for my creamsicle, and Pinkie asked, "How's your day been so far?" I shrugged and said, "eh, the usual, saved some people from drowning." I ate my creamsicle. "I heard Rarity's hanging out with your roomie," said Pinkie. "Oh, Donnie? The rumors are true," I jokingly confirmed. "They look so cute together," said Pinkie, "we should do a double date some time!"

"That'd be cool," I said, smiling. Suddenly, Pinkie's cell phone rang. She picked it up and said, "Hello? Hi Sunny! I'm doing well, thanks for asking! How are you and Raph? Uh-huh, and how's the baby? That's good! No, I'm not doing anything tomorrow night. I'll ask him." Pinkie then looked at me and asked, "are you doing anything tomorrow night?" I shrugged and said, "I'm totally free tomorrow night."  Pinkie then said on the phone, "yeah, Mikey's free too. Really? That's totally awesome! I'll ask him." Pinkie then looked at me and said, "Raph and Sunset want to invite you and me over for a quadruple date! It'll be her and Raph, me and you, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, and Donnie and Rarity! Want to do it?" Whoa. I've heard of double dates, but never a quadruple date. Never been invited to one. I don't hesitate as I say, "sure, I'd love to!" Pinkie then said, "he and I are open to it! Any details we should know? Alrighty, I'll tell Mikey. See you tomorrow Sunny!"

"Any details we should know about tomorrow?" I asked as she hung up. "Just wear some casually nice clothes, it's at 6 o'clock, and it's at Raph and Sunny's house," said Pinkie. "Alright, sounds good," I said, smiling, "see you then, Pinks." She then smiled at me. The next day, Donnie and I picked up Rarity and Pinkie from their houses. They looked nice. Rarity was in the passenger seat, and Pinkie and I were in the back. I held Pinkie's hand, causing her to blush. We then made it to Raph and Sunny's house. Looks nice. We got out, and Donnie knocked on the door. Less than a minute, Raphael opened the door. "Mikey! Donnie! Rarity! Pinkie! Glad you guys could make it," said Raph as he smiled. "Mind if we come in?" Donnie asked. "Sure, come on in," replied Raph, and we went inside. Gotta say, this house is nice on the inside. As I shut the door inside, we saw Sunset on the couch. "Hey everyone, make yourselves at home," said Sunset, and we saw Fluttershy and Dash were there too. "You must be Donnie, right?" Dash asked. "Donnie Ditko's the name," confirmed Donnie as he smiled, "are you Rainbow Dash?"

"That's my name, don't wear it out," said Dash as she smirked, "and this is my girlfriend, Fluttershy." I waved hi at them. "Hello, it's nice to meet you Donnie," said Fluttershy as Don shook both their hands. "Nice to meet you too Fluttershy," replied Donnie. "So who's hungry for pizza?" Raph asked. "Pizza sounds good dude," I said, feeling a lot of hunger. "Well you're in luck Mikey, pizza's in the oven," said Sunset, "it's baking right now." I could smell the aromas far from the kitchen. "Till then," said Raph "how about we get to know each other, make small talk?"

For the next twenty minutes, the girls explained that they were in a band called The Rainbooms. Pinkie's a drummer, and Rarity plays keytar. And Raph occasionally writes songs for them. "You're a lyricist?" I asked in astonishment. "It's a hidden talent," Raph jokingly said, "got any hidden talents of your own?" I shrugged and said, "Well I don't mean to brag, but I'm pretty good at skateboarding and the nunchucks." Pinkie looked at me and asked, "you can fight with nunchucks?" I smirked and said, "hidden talent, and I feel it's a natural instinct." Donnie nodded and said, "I'm good with the bo staff. Same as Mikey, feels like a natural instinct." Rarity smiled and said, "you truly are an open book darling." The timer went off, and Raphael said, "pizza's ready! I'll get it honey." He then got up to get the pizza. Once the pizza was out, we got ready to eat. The pizza was delicious. "So you guys have similar dreams from what we heard," said Sunset, "care to elaborate?"

"We have drawings," I said as I brought out the drawings that Donnie and I worked on. They were drawings of Donnie and I as turtles. "In the dreams, we look like that," said Donnie, "and you're in the dreams, Raphael." Raph looked at the drawings, and he gave a look that looked like he'd experienced these before. "How often do you have these dreams?" Raph asked. "We started having them when we started high school," said Mikey, "I met Donnie,  and when I found out I wasn't the only one experiencing these dreams, I felt like I wasn't alone." Raph nodded and said, "you could be experiencing memories of a past life, which I can neither confirm nor deny. Sunset has this ability. Care to explain, babe?" Sunset nodded and said, "when I touch a person I can look and see what they've done in the past. Memories. Maybe I can help find a solution as to why you're experiencing these dreams."

"Whoa, so you're like a comic book character that can read minds or something," I said, amazed. "Yeah, something along those lines," said Raph as he smirked a bit. "I just need to look into Raph's memories first," said Sunset, as she touched Raphael's forehead. I guess she was looking into all his memories. "Okay, I'm ready..." she said, "take my hands, boys." Donnie and I looked at each other, and then we touched her hands. That's when Sunset's eyes turned white. Suddenly, all of those dreams Donnie and I experienced came back. They aren't dreams... they're memories... Of our past lives... now it all makes sense... I remember everything! I looked at my brothers and said, "Donnie? Raph? Is that you?" Donnie looked at me in surprise and asked, "Mikey? Are we..." Sunset looked at us and said, "Raph, your brothers... They're alive!" Raphael looked at us and said, "is it really you, bros?"

"Wait, if Mikey and Donnie are Raphael's brothers, why are they human? And weren't they supposedly dead?" Rarity asked. "Their souls were reincarnated. And the dreams they were experiencing were memories of their past selves," said Sunset. "That does make logical sense. Kind of like a form of amnesia in which the amnesiac is trying to regain their original memories," said Donnie. That definitely sounds like my smart big brother. "This is incredible! My brothers are back!" Raphael happily said as he hugged us, "I missed you guys so much!" We happily hugged Raph back. Raph then explained what happened after we died. His story was dark and tragic, but we were glad that our big brother got a happy ending. "Wait a minute," I said in realization, "if you're married and are expecting a kid, then that means... We're going to be uncles Donnie!"

Time Skip

I saw Pinkie outside and walked on over to her. "You alright?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm fine," said Pinkie. I sat next to her and asked, "you weirded out by all this? Reincarnation and all that?" Pinkie shrugged and said, "Nah. I've seen weirder stuff. This is just another Tuesday for me." I chuckled and said, "no kidding. Still, never thought I'd be reincarnated." Pinkie nodded and said, "I know what you mean. How do you feel being reunited with your family?" I smiled and said, "feels good. Pinkie, before all this happened, I wanted to tell you something..." Pinkie looked at me and asked, "Yes, Mikey?" I looked at Pinkie and said, "I like you Pinkie... Probably as more than just a friend. I have a lot of feelings for you." Pinkie gasped and asked, "You do?" I blushed and nodded. Pinkie smiled and said, "your brother told me I would've liked you. Looks like he was right. I think I might have more than just a crush on you Mikey..." I smiled and said, "Do you... Want to be more than friends, Pinkie?" She beamed and said, "I would love to Mikey." We moved closer, and our lips made contact. This sensation felt great. When we stopped kissing, we smiled at each other. Pinkie said, "I love you Michelangelo." I smiled and said, "I love you too, Pinkie Pie."
