"Bring Me To Life" By Evanescence

Sixteen+

Visions for me have always been more trouble than they’re worth. Like right now as I sit chowing down on a delicious pancake made by Edie when all the sudden and without warning I have a fit. The process is hard to explain to one not experiencing it but I’ll do my very best.

If I were watching this all from a bird’s eye view I’d say that it all looks very dramatic when I just fall to the side of my chair and onto the kitchen tile of the floor. My eyes are most likely rolled back only showing the whites as my lids flutter wildly. This all while my body systematically bows and contort liken to a fish on a deck. Now, this is what you’re seeing but in my head it’s a different story.

Slipping into a trance I am assaulted from all sides mentally with images but even these are in flashes, like a strobe light. All of them just split seconds of a full situation but with many scenes missing. I can catch on to some things and before it’s all over I’ve got key points of the whole reason I’ve had to deal with ordeal.

Coming out of this though is tricky and something I can only describe like this: Did you ever play on a swing set? When you’re so high from just the pump of our legs giving you power to rise higher then you’ve ever been. You even think you can touch the sky you’re so high in the air but its not enough. You want to fly. So you jump and there is weightlessness in those few moments. A rush that gets your blood pumping and making you believe that you are truly free.

Then you land.

The impact of your body hitting the ground is rough but inevitable. You gasp as pain radiates in every pour of your body but for those precious seconds of peace you would do it again. That’s what coming out of a vision is like for me. A moment of serenity before the harsh reality of the real world comes back in a rush.

Gasping I come back to consciousness on the kitchen floor but everything is blurry though a figure hovers above me. I can’t make out much other than a dark patch on the top of the figure’s head and something pale but large reaching towards me. I don’t even have the energy to flinch back from the touch instead I just try to collect my scattered mind.

I need something.

What do I need?

Notebook! Paper! Pen!

I need to right these flashes of information before I lose them.

“Tallulah!” A voice I faintly recognize yells while something shakes me at the shoulder.

Tingles and a lovely burn move across my skin.

Focus!

“Paper!” I gasp out.

The hand on my shoulder stops shaking, “Paper?”

“Paper and pen. I need to write it down.”

“Write what?”

“Here” a deep slightly accented voice cuts in as the sound of crumpled paper hits my eardrums. “Might want to sit her up though. She needs a drink and something to nibble on.”

The hand on my shoulder tightens before it relaxes as someone sighs slowly. The source of the tingles moves around my shoulder and the blurry room is spinning in my still impaired vision. I feel something sturdy at my back as I close my eyes to stop the resulting spinning in my stomach. Digging my hands into my hair I put my head between my legs so I don’t vomit on the floor.
