CHAPTER 16

Tatlong araw na naming nilalakbay ang karagatan. I thought it would only take us an hour or a day but I guess I was wrong. Ilang araw na ring kinukulit ni Cerberus si Verleen na halatang nagtitimpi lang dahil tinutupad lang niya ang utos sa kanya ni Larco.

I am inside my cabin listening to the melody that keep me sane for a couple of days. May panahon na maalon, may kalmado, may araw na maulan, may maaliwalas. Tanging ang maliit na music box na ito ang nagsisilbing kasiyahan ko sa loob ng ilang araw.

Isang mahinang katok ang nagpabangon sa akin. I gaze at the door but still did not move. Isang ulo ng tao ang bahagyang sumilip sa maliit na siwang ng pinto. Napakunot ang aking noo habang hinihintay na bumungad ang kabuuan ng lalaki na kumatok sa pinto.

What does he want?

"Gusto ko lang sanang malaman kong nandito ba si Verleen?" mahina niyang saad habang nakataas ang dalawang kamay naka V-form.

I look at him in boredom. Do I look like a keeper? Nang mapansin na wala akong pakialam sa kanyang tanong ay mabilis siyang pumasok sabay sara sa pinto.

"You know I can kill you right here, right now."

He just look at me and nod but still did not left the cabin. Mabilis akong umupo at inayos ang aking bota. Naupo ako sa gilid ng kama at inaayos ang aking mga gamit habang mabilis siyang tumabi sa akin at tiningnan ang aking ginagawa.

I place my music box in my side while tying my hair in a ponytail. Hahawakan na sana niya ang aking music box ng mabilis ko itong nahawi mula sa kanya sabay tapik sa kanyang kamay. Masamang tingin ang iginawad niya sa akin sabay himas sa kanyang kamay.

It must really hurt.

"Sos possessive galing sa boyfriend mo yan noh?" saad niya sabay sundot sa aking gilid. Maybe the world he said that was peaceful than this realm taught him his words, clothing style, and weirdness.

"What is a boyfriend?"

He just chuckle.

"Boyfriend means a boy and a friend." He said.

That's all?

Bahagya lamang akong napailing at akma na sanang lalabas ng cabin ng hawakan ni Cerberus ang aking balikat.

"I saw that Larco guy stare at you, is he your boyfriend?" He ask with a grin.

A boy that is a friend. I guess Larco is a friend afterall. We've been together for the longest time. I have been taking care of him eversince he was young so I guess we are.

"Yah."

He just clap his hands and left the cabin with an enormous laugh. He really is going crazy. One more trip to that world will make him more weirder and crazier. The more Verleen will hate him and he'll have no other choice but to settle for Ophelia. I smirk at the thought of it.

Pumunta ako patungo sa kusina ng barko naabutan kong nakaupo silang lahat habang tahimik na nag-uusap maliban nalang kay Larco na nasa malayo ang tingin sa gilid ng bintana.

Tumabi ako kay Angus na nakaupo sa may tapat ni Demor. He shrug as he look at me with the same bored expression.

"Can't you be any happier sister?"

Before I could answer his questions I slightly glance at Larco who is now talking at Ophelia while she handed him a bottle of water. They are talking seriously like they already have their own shitty world.

Angus scoff.

I know he already read my thoughts. I just sit beside him and decided to remain silent for the next thousand years. I saw Eulises glancing at Larco and Ophelia and slowly lean towards the center of the table like he wants to tell something but doesn't wanna let both of them hear.

"So I was passing by Ophelia's cabin when I saw Larco inside sitting at the edge of the bed taking his boots off." Eulises whisper.

Bahagyang napantig ang aking tenga. Wait what? Magkasama sila ng kwarto? I turn my gaze towards Cerberus who just got inside the kitchen.

"Ophelia is Larco's mate." Angus stated.

There goes everything. Hindi ko alam na may nakatadhana pala para sa isang tao. I thought mates was only for creatures like me. Though Ophelia is an inborn witch but Larco is only human. I have seen his human mother died while giving birth to him and the worst thing is Angus knew but decided to make me think like a jealous fool.

Using my speed I immediately left the kitchen and proceed into the main deck. The wind hug my body. One of the many feeling that keeps me calm. The wind created a whistling melodic sound arranged like a real music composition. I close my eyes and sit in a dark part of the deck.

I hate to admit it but I like Larco in a different way. Hindi ko alam kong kailan nagsimula pero bigla ko nalang naramdaman ang mabilis na tibok ng aking puso pag nagkakalapit kami. Which is very odd because I felt the same thing towards Lucas. Knowing that Ophelia is destined to be his mate. Maybe it will help me think that I needed time for myself more than staring at him only from a distance.

May bigla akong naaninag na dumaang liwanag. Loud steps run towards the main deck. Lahat kami ay nakatingin sa isang malaking barrier na nagmula sa pinakamalalim na parte ng karagatan patungo sa ibabaw ng mga ulap na walang hangganan. Cerberus went to an elevated part of the ship like a mini stage.

"Passengers, this is your captain speaking. I welcome you to the Empyrean realm."

I did not hear his last word much for I focus my gaze towards a land that is beyond my thinking. This world is breathing in lively colors. Being used to the greens and dessert of the human realm, my eyes feast in the wonders that never cease to amuse.

I look at Angus and is surprise to see his hair turn grayish in color while my hair became more orange in structure. The rest of them is till the same since they are all humans so is Larco. Cerberus turn more handsome which made him look more like a star for he is shimmering, literally shining. I gaze at Ophelia and roll my eyes.

"Jealous?" Angus whisper in my ear.

I look at Ophelia still in his black colored hair but has a white highlighted hair in some chosen parts. "No." I answer my dearest brother and step away from him.

Mabilis akong lumapit kay Cerberus na halatang kinukulit na naman si Verleen tungkol sa kong gaano siya kagwapo dahil sa kanyang bagong anyo.

"Demor, Jay, Verleen."

Mabilis na lumapit ang tatlo sa akin. I gaze at Cerberus who just pouted his lips looking at me like a child who has his toy stolen.

"Try to contact the council. Tell them we're inside." Sabay silang yumuko at patakbong umalis. Cerberus came to me still in his frowning face but still did not utter a word.

"Oh problema mo?"

He made a tsk sound. "Moment na sana namin yon ni Verleen ehh."

I grin.

Sa wakas may nahanap na rin akong pagkakaabalahan maliban sa pasimpleng tingin kay Larco at Ophelia na walang magandang naidudulot sa aking kalmadong pag-iisip. I decided to annoy Cerberus and Verleen. Maybe, just maybe I will forget this nonsense feeling towards someone who is mated.

"At exactly zero nine hundred this evening, we will dock at the Siren's Island. Be prepared and tell the others." Seryosong saad ni Cerberus. Bago pa siya makapag walk out I held his arms stopping him from walking.

"Verleen remember?"

I grin seeing his reaction. He look at me annoyingly and take back his arms.

"Okey, okey, your highness. I will tell the others." Padabog niyang saad sabay lapit sa tatlo na nag-uusap sa gilid ng railing ng barko.

Childish tsk.

So nice to have the upper hand. Having Verleen makes me the ace here. Being able to order the captain around in his ship. How fantastic!
