chapter 12, curiosity

emma's pov: i was beginning to tell him when my phone rang so i looked at the name and screamed, it was my dad i was scared so i put my phone down and i told alessio everything. My sad story and i saw his facial expressions and he was surprised at how strong i was to handle all of this and he kept love glaring at me which caught me off track a couple times but when i finished he told me how he was sorry and how i was tough and didn't deserve that but then he asked me a question. "isn't the wood family rich" only on my moms side i said "then why were you guys poor?" that made my heart drop, my dad stole most of the money from my mom and bought stuff for himself and then kicked us out of the house, "where did you live?" we had to move into my grandmas house but a year later my grandma died so we had to move in with my dad again and he just argued with my mom. I was 6 at the time so we had to live with him for two years and then on my 8th birthday they found my sister and mothers body in a river, cause they dragged them there and we still don't know who did it but one of the dudes saw me and i hit him with a chair and knocked him out and they are looking for me cause i was the only witness since my dad was passed out. i could see in zotto's face that he was scared, sad, and worried about me, and even though he was a complete dick he could be sweet. "I'm really sorry emma i had no idea that you went through all of that" so i said oh that was nothing there is a lot more to me i just haven't told you yet, he laughed and we got up and left. I need a well paying job and i know you have connections cause you are... "are you asking me to help you" no i am telling you that you are going to help me "maybe only if you.." oh no you are doing this cause you called me names "you called me then first and stole my car" shhh no one asked you just walk and listen to me, "fine whatever you want princess" i'm not your princess *slaps face* "oh you are in trouble" he pulled me in a alley and pushed me up against a wall and i couldn't help but laugh at the irony of it. He smiled and did that thing with his eyes where they glitter and shine and i couldn't help but stare at them and he leaned in for a kiss and i acted like i didn't know and i pushed off the wall and punched him in the arm and ran, he chased after me and i ran on the road looking back at him and a car almost hit me but he pulled me back and i fell on him. You saved me i said smiling "it's whateve" you aren't funny i said, he just laughed and he took me home. "I had fun today" me too i said "okay i'll see you tomorrow at 5" what no "you want a job you get one tomorrow at 5 i'll pick you up" fine i'll do it, he started to walk away and i screamed his name and he turned away "yes?" i ran up to him and kissed his cheek cause i wanted to tease him for trying to kiss me today and it worked his eyes lit up and he blushed, i said good bye babe while walking away and i closed the door and looked out the window and he was still there in surprise, his face was priceless. I changed into my pj's and payed in bed and listened to ransom by lil Tecca and fell asleep.
