Billy's POV
It was another hectic day at the pool when I spotted two girls playfully drowning each other. I jumped off my chair and went to go tell them off, but one girl had already left the pool. Next thing I knew, I've already run into someone. She stumbled back and said some remark about me needing to be careful. I put on my friendliest smile and held out my hand for her to shake. "Hey, I'm Billy."
She smacks my hand away and glares at me. "No shit. I thought you were Abraham Lincoln!" The girl barked. I took my hand back and returned my arm to my side.
"Don't you mean BABEraham Lincoln?" I give her a smile but she shoots it down with another smart remark.
The girl laughs in my face. "I could eat a bowl of alphabet soup and shit out a better statement than that." She plainly states.
"Well damn," I start, "you're a fiery one, aren't you?" She stands there unamused, but I laugh anyways. "...I like that..." Her face flushes red and she steps closer to me. I stand there unfazed.
"Then I bet you're gonna like my foot up your a-!" I brace myself for a kick in between the legs, but someone grabs the girls arms and pulls her back. "Let go of me Libby! I need to kick this dude's butt!!"
"Harper, chill out!" The girl now named Libby yelled at her. Harper fought against her friends strength then accidentally pushed past me and angrily landed in the pool. Libby walked up to the side of the pool and looked at Harper. "I think it's time to go home."
Harper's POV
I walk over to our chairs and retrieve my towel. "That could've gone... a lot worse..." Libby explained. I agreed and started to head out of the pool. Billy ran up behind us and started to say something, but I had enough of him today.
"Listen here, Billy Hargrove. Don't you EVER come near me again!" I stormed up to him, snagged the whistle from his neck and threw it on the ground.

I dropped Wallis off at his friends Max's house then Libby and I headed to the Starcourt Mall. While I was driving, our favorite song, Footloose, came on the radio. I smiled and cranked up the music. Libby rolled down the window and kicked her feet up on the dashboard. We rocked out until I finally found a parking space. "Jesus this place is packed today." I said realizing Libby wasn't in the car anymore.
"Last one to Scoops Ahoy is a rotten egg!" She ran through the parking lot and I chased after her. We stopped for no cars and finally made it inside.
"Libby slow down!!" I tried to catch my breath while chasing her up the stairs. I saw the Scoops Ahoy sign ahead and slowed down, knowing Libby was going to win anyways.
"We made it..!" We stopped in front of the ice cream shop and took in all its glory. Libby ran into the store and I once again ran after her. "Wait for me, asshole!"
Libby's POV
I jogged up to the front counter, out of breath. "One.... chocolate... ice... cream... please." I told the freckle faced girl in front of me. She gave me a weird look but made my ice cream anyway. Harper walked in beside me and looked around for a flavor she wanted. "Looks like we're going to be here a while."
The worker looked at me again and gave me the eyebrow look. The next 5 minutes were full of ice cream samples and two annoyed teenage girls. "Does she always do this?" The worker smirked at me and pointed at Harper.
I fished in my pocket for some money, feeling a bit flustered. "Only when she knows it's going to get on my nerves." I roll my eyes and notice the girl in front of me blushing.
She leaned over the counter and put her chin on her hands. "So... seeing as this is going to take a while, we should get to know each other." She smiled.
"Well my name is Libby, and I'm guessing yours is Robin." I say as I point at her name tag.
"It's nice to meet you, Libby." She winked and I finally had realized that Robin was flirting with me. I licked my ice cream and then I suddenly looked away, getting more flustered by the moment.
Harper blurted out the flavor she wanted and Robin made it. "Here's your money, have a good day hehe byeeeee." I awkwardly slide her the cash then grab Harpers hand and left Scoops. "Phew, That was close." We sit on a nearby bench and lick our ice cream.
"What was that about!? She totally digged you!" Harper yelled at me and playfully slapped my shoulder.
"Yeah... I guess..." I sighed and took another lick.
"What did you not like her back?" Harper kept questioning me.
"No it's not that I just- I don't think I like her like that... or anyone for that matter..." She looked at me like I was out of my mind. "Harper, can I tell you something I've never told anyone..?" She nodded her head, still looking at me like im a manic. I slumped down in my seat. "I don't think I'm attracted to anyone..."
