Harper's POV

"I screwed up, Libby. I totally fucking screwed up." I had been driving around East Hawkins for about 2 hours. "Libby?" I stop the car and look over at her. She's asleep. Well, it is getting pretty dark... guess I should take her home.

We arrive at her house and I shake her. "Hey, sleepyhead. Wake up." Libby opens her eyes and stretches her arms and legs. "It's past your bedtime so I drove you home."

She unbuckles her seatbelt and jumps out of the car  saying that I owe her a fancy dinner tomorrow, then going inside. I take a glimpse at the time. 9pm. I sigh then drive back home, hoping that Wallis is there waiting for me like last night. Nope, no sign of Wallis. Anywhere. I plop myself on the couch and flip through tv channels. Almost 30 minutes pass by when I hear someone knock at the door.

"Billy?" I said, surprised as I open the door.

"The one and only." He smiled.

"What are you doing here?"

"Came for a visit... ya know.... make sure you're okay. Did you ever find Wallis?"

I shook my head. "No.. and if you wanted to contact me you could've called. Plus, it's night time, so go be with whatever bitch your sleeping with tonight." I started to close the door but he pushed it open.

"Now hold on a second. You're here all by yourself, so you need someone to look after you." He pulled his arm up and leaned on the doorframe like a drunk idiot.

I rolled my eyes then rubbed them tiredly. "Listen. I want you to stop telling me what I need. I've been here all my myself for 12 years and I don't need assholes like you coming to my door acting like my savior." I say waiting for his response, almost feeling guilty. "But, you're clearly under the influence, so I can't let you drive anywhere." I take the keys from Billy's hand and I open the door so he can come inside.

"Whatever," Billy walked inside almost tripping over his untied shoe laces. "Got any tequila?" He asked me while opening and closing my cabinets. I went to the kitchen and jumped up to sit on the counter.

"Gotta say, Billy. I didn't think you as a tequila kinda guy. But, no, no alcohol." I smiled and grabbed a bag of chips sitting near me. "You should probably get some sleep." Billy groaned and laid to the couch without saying a word. "Okay then... that was easy." I get off the counter and go to take a shower.

Billy's POV

I shuffled around in my sleep for a minute before getting the urge to puke. "Shit.." I get up and silently race to the nearest bathroom. "Fuck-" I notice that Harper is in the shower but it's too late, I had already threw up in the toilet.

"Billy?" She opens the shower curtain but just enough to where her head peaks out. "What the hell are you doing in here perv?! Get the fuck out!!" I wipe my face and look at her.

"I uh- I mean sorry- I just needed to puke..." I look away then flush the toilet.

"No shit. Get out!" Harper yells at me but I can't take my eyes off her.

"Mind if I join..?" I say, then immediately regret. Curse my drunk stupid mouth.

Harper reaches over and pops me in the head with a can of hairspray. "NO! I swear if you don't leave I'll-"

"Okay, Okay! I get it! I didn't realize you were in here. Technically it's your fault because you didn't lock the door, but we all make mistakes."

"Your'e such a dick! Why do you just keep ignoring everything I say and like being so nasty?" She tightens the grip on the shower curtain, trying to cover herself up.

I sigh and stand up facing her but look at the floor. "I'm really sorry... I guess it's just because everyone expects me to be dirty minded and horny and shit. Well, I am... but I'm so much more than that. And you're the only straight girl I have ever met that doesn't fall head over heels for me. Well, at least not yet. But I admire you for that. For being strong and independent and not taking anybody's shit. And I guess that's the difference between me and you. I'm weak and insecure so I try to cover it up by being rude and getting high all the time. And you... you're just a fucking badass and I'm so glad to have you in my life." I sigh then look back up at Harper, who was blushing.

"Dude, I've known you for, like, a couple days. How  'bout we talk about this after I have my shower?" She closes the curtain and I leave the bathroom.

Harper's POV

I hesitate about leaving the shower but I eventually do. Billy is standing in the kitchen, somewhat sober. "Hey..." I say with a shallow smile on my face. "What was all that about?"

Billy shrugged. "The truth."

"Okay... was that all drunk talk or-" I pause in the middle of my sentence because of flashing police lights outside of my house. "Hopper!" I push past Billy and I run up to his car. "Hop what are you doing here?" He steps out of the car and opens the back door.

"Found this sucker wandering the tracks, thought you might want him back." Hopper says, sarcastically.

"Wallis!" I cover my mouth and wait for him to get out of the car. "What in the world were you thinking, asshole? I was so worried-" Wallis walks past me and I turn to Hopper. "What's wrong with him?"

"Dunno," He shrugged "stayed silent the entire ride here." I walked behind Wallis and into the house.

"Thanks hop!" I yell from the front door and go up to Billy. "Here, you might need these." I hand him his keys. "Just don't let hopper catch you drunk driving." Billy nods then leaves without another word. "... and thank you." I whisper after he closes the door.
