The Next Morning
Daevd's POV
I got up earlier than the others. Mainly because there was light, constant knocking on my window.
I grabbed my pepper spray, flashlight, and keys before heading out the door. Hopefully it's not another racoon...
Rustling could be heard to the left, so I simply shone a beam of light in the general direction. A pair of arms flew up to shield their face, but the light brown hair was a dead giveaway.
"Hola Sam. Care to share why you're knocking at my window when it's 5 in the morning?" I asked, aiming the light down to the ground. Her arms lowered.
"I've got a question. Well, moreso a favor to ask." She crossed her arms, one leg behind the other. I raised an eyebrow.
"At 5 in th-"
"Well I didn't exactly look at the time, first off. Second, I'm requesting a dual cabin bonding night." She cut me off.
"A dual cabin... what?" I asked, still in a sluggish state. She sighed.
"A dual cabin bonding night. With Cabin 17 and Cabin 14. First one ever. You in?" She simplified.
"Will you promise to not bug us at 5 AM again?" I asked. She nodded. I rubbed my eyes, "Ok, then sure, why not."
"Yay! Thanks Ved! Now Esdrew can blossom more..." She skipped away happily.
What have we done? I thought to myself as I laid down on my bed.
"Something worrying you Jenks?" Noel asked. I shook my head. He sighed, the bed and floor slightly creeking. I looked up to see him staring at me, face to face.
"I'm fine."
"Bullshit. Do you really think that I can't tell when you're lying? Now I'll ask you again; What's wrong?" He sat on the floor next to my bed, holding my hand.
"I don't think that this bet is a good idea..." I started. He sighed.
"I know that you don't, but we've already set it in motion. There's nothing any of us can do." He was looking at the floor.
"Still, somebody will end up getting hurt. Esmeralda doesn't deserve to go through this and neither does Andrew. To you guys, it might be all fun and games, but they are actual people." I pulled my hand away, turning on my side to face the wall.
"Daevd... You just need to relax. It's not that big of a deal. " He whispered. I scoffed.
"So if somebody started playing with my feelings because of a dare, you wouldn't care because it's "not that big of a deal" ?" I mumbled out. He sharply inhaled.
"That's different. You know that that'd be different."
"Would it?" I spat, tuning out the rest of the conversation as tears started crawling down my cheek.
Later that Morning at the Mess Hall
(Andrew's POV)"Hey, has anyone seen Daevd around?" Ella asked our group. I continued eating my waffles.
"Last time I saw him, he was in bed." Ted replied. She nodded, walking away. I actually haven't seen him around... it's like 9 AM.
"Speaking of Daevd, is he okay?" I asked. Noel stabbed a fork into a strawberry.
"Can we not talk about him?" He asked, looking down and nearly growling. I gulped.
"Sure bud." Ted answered, sending me a look. What'd I do?!?
I quickly finished breakfast, then started to head back to the cabin.
"Hey Andrew, wait up!" A voice called out. I smiled and quit walking to wait for her.
