(Sam's POV)
"Chairs... check. Lanterns and fairylights?" I called over my shoulder.
"Check!" Giselle shouted out from across the warehouse.
"Do we have enough tables for this year?" Sarah asked, tapping her clipboard.
"Daevd! What's the status with the tables?" I yelled.
"Can't tell from here. Can you see any sis?" he bayed.
"There's a few here, but have we accounted for the ones already outside?" Ella responded. I gasped quietly. The ones in the Mess Hall could hold 20 people alone.
"We haven't yet. How much fabric are we allowed?" Sarah replied loudly, murmuring the last sentence to herself.
"Any leftovers from last year. That's how much we're allowed," I reminded, nudging her before walking out of the warehouse. I can't believe that was the last roundup meeting... the dance is in a week...
Briskly power walking my way to the Manager's cabin, I ran into her. The biggest bitch I've ever met, Evelynne Rotler.
"Oh... hey Sammy~ How's Davs doing? He hasn't answered me back since our little date," she clung to me, pressing against me. Don't call me Sammy you cheating little puta...
"Daevd is doing great. With someone who has a better sense of loyalty," I removed her as politely as I could, "now... I have places to be."
"Aw, don't be like that honey~ Besides, we've got plenty to catch up on," she dragged me into a shed. Or tried to at least.
Ella came up behind her and grabbed her arms, flinging her into the bushes, "back the fuck off bitch."
Evelynne stared at her, eyes and mouth wide, "y-you aren't allowed to swear, Muslim..."
I internally winced for Ella. Man she's racist... Ella is Hindu. They don't care about swearing.
I smiled faintly and replied, "personally I'm Catholic."
"Either way, what you two are is a sin," she spat. I chuckled.
"Oh, like you aren't," I stated, winking.
"Whatever. I actually wanted to ask if that cute boy is single," she stared me down after standing up.
"What boy?" Ella scoffed, "haven't you been around enough to know your answer?"
"The one that Daevd hangs out with," she smirked. My heart stopped for a moment.
"Noel is taken, Theodore doesn't want anything to do with you, and don't even think about going after Andrew," I threatened. She raised an eyebrow.
"Oh? I just think that Andrew would be a little fun to play with~" Evelynne teased, biting her lip. I balled up my fist.
"Go anywhere near him, and I will end you. And trust me, that's a fucking promise," a voice boomed out from behind me.
"Well then why don't we have a bit of fun, Noel?" Evelynne enticed. Noel grabbed me by the waist and play-bit my neck. I gasped out, unprepared.
He stopped, then looked up and elaborated, "I'd rather be brutally murdered than look at you. Now, if you'll excuse us."
He led us away. Once we were out of earshot he said, "I'm sorry for doing that to you, it just looked like you needed help."
"It's alright," I assured him.
"But save that shit for your boyfriend," Ella added. He gave an amused exhale.
"Will do ma'am. I shall treat your brother with loyalty, unlike that bitch," he growled the last bit.
