I sighed as I finished packing up my backpack. There was a small whistle coming from downstairs, but I knew that it was just my little sister's train set.

I don't understand how I got talked into this. Dad said that it's going to be fun, but I highly doubt it.

Camp. For all of summer? Sounds like a scam to me...

Since it's all of summer though, the camp pays any of the kids that are of working age; so basically only Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.

"ANDREW!"

And there's my que...

I trudged down the stairs, ignoring everyone that was trying to talk to me, and went straight to the car.

After a few minutes, we were driving to Perino Camp. And as usual, Mom was talking my ear off.

"Good opportunity........ life experiences and life lessons... why your dad and I..." She said, me blocking out most of her words.

"ANDREW." She shouted, causing me to bang my knee and crash my head against the window.

"What Mom?" I asked. She glared at me from her peripherals.

"We're here."

I looked out the window to see a huge wooden sign saying,
WELCOME TO PERINO CAMPGROUNDS

There was at least 20 kids running directly to the lake, two camp rangers chasing after them. I got out the car as soon as I could, giving a quick goodbye to my Mom because she'd nag about it if I didn't.

I immediately felt out of place with my stark-white skin, grey sweatpants, and a black nike t-shirt. Never the less, I walked to the cabin orginaztion table.

"Name?" The girl asked, giving me a once-over. I looked at her name tag: Sammy Drew.

"Andrew Clerky." I stated. She nodded, looking at the papers infront of her.

"Andrew Clerky..... Cabin 14. If you face the lake, it's on the path to your left." She smiled at me, jokingly winking.

"Thanks cutie." I winked back.

"Just go." She laughed. I smiled and began to walk away.

"Wait!" She called after me. I did a dramatic as hell 180.

"What?" I asked a bit snappishly. She held up a pile of clothes.

"We've got a bit of a dress code here." She got up and handed me 8 shirts, 7 shorts, one rain jacket, and one pair of swim trunks. I took them as she pulled a backpack from seemingly nowhere. I slide the clothes in, then threw my backpack on one shoulder.

"There's a what?" I asked. She gave me a look.

"A dress code. Failure to follow the code will result in a week of cleaning duty. In the backpack is the basics; a handkerchief, a map of the campgrounds, and three books. The books are on Respect, Dangerous Plants And Animals of the Forest, and Teamwork. Have fun." She grinned, hustling back to the table.

This is going to be a long summer.
